I remember getting this one from the library as a kid and the combination of "Popcorn," "Rock & Roll Part 2" and "Clair" blew my mind.

This volume is an exemplar of the K-Tel mix: AM pop, one-hit wonders, enjoyably dumb shit, horrid "how was this a hit?" pieces of crap. And "Brandy" is the perfect K-Tel song.

^OTM. And given K-Tel's 22 Dynamic Hits Vol.2 was the first LP I ever owned (Christmas 1972 present from an aunt and uncle), I'm not minding this a bit right now.
"Sylvia's Mother", "Popcorn", "Brandy" and the other version of "Son Of My Father" are all on that LP.

This might be my favourite Volume of the series so far, actually. Chi Coltrane, Lobo and Gallery were all new to me but all good. The first part of the Cashman & West thing was also OK, the second less so.
Voted "Frankenstein". Edgar Winter must have had a sore neck after that (awesome) OGWT performance.

I get the feeling that Cashman & West track is partially here to make up for the absence of "American Pie", which had to be one of the white whales for the compliers.

I really really hate “Rock and Roll Part 2” and what the fuck is it even doing on here? This isn’t fucking Jock Jams.

13 “Brandy” fans can’t be wrong

The ‘90s were awful.
― Mr. Snrub, Wednesday, 1 August 2018 00:30 (five years ago) link
And “Rock and Roll Part 2” is the quintessential 90s track.
