at any rate the blurb is gone, and I'd really prefer not to hear about it again. it's discouraging enough that I get angry emails from stans whenever I write something less than positive, and I wish it wouldn't happen from colleagues as well

a day later the objectionable posts remain and no action has been taken to end this unending thing that is now threatening to ruin my friday as well as my thursday, so it's very funny people are suggesting this as if it does anything

I thought it had been generally agreed that all ILX beef should be self-contained and hermetically sealed. No off-board beef dragged onto the board, no beef on the board dragged elsewhere. And that engaging in that practice was, at the least, douchey.

xp there might be a good argument for moderators removing posts, but “flag post” in current form is just a way for complaints to tally up against someone and they’re banned when they hit a threshold afaik

correct. if there is a reason you need a specific post deleted or googleproofed, please use mod request forum.

Like you can pooh-pooh my presence here to your heart's content, but if you decide to make a stink on the board about some non-ILX part of my life, it's fisticuffs at dawn time.

posting it on the mod request forum will amplify it further and people are already yelling at me for using too many threads so I don't want to use another one

I've def been angry about ILX beefs in the distant past, but I don't have the energy to muster much more than an eyeroll in my dotage.

people have gotten worse about discussing things they *disagree* with, where the main issue is people who don't have a strong opinion either way dropping in to shit on the fact that *someone had an opinion*

T***ican makes reading ilm hard due to the "I now have an opinion on this, look at me, why won't anyone congratulate me" stance and their ongoing shenanigans baffle me

two sides of the same coin: opinions or even reviews are worth commentary but acting as if each embodies the entire essence of the writer is just a broken social dynamic
