She received a warning for coaching, she denied she was being coached, but the replay showed Mouratoglou was in fact giving some kind of instruction.

It was upsetting. Those rules are stupid to begin with, are obviously discretionary and inconsistently applied, and it appears violations may not be well communicated to the players during the match. To employ them in this way at this time was BS. He was not only unfair to Serena, he took a big dump on Osaka's achievement and her moment.
And yeah, why did the interviewer ask that question about how the reality compared to the dream.

It is the implication. If you are not a woman (especially not a black woman) you have absolutely no clue.

Serena should feel however she should feel. I don't know how she has been this gracious for the entirety of her career. But I also feel horrible for Osaka. It was a shitshow. Tennis needs to get itself together.

I watch a lot of tennis. I played varsity tennis in high school even though I sucked and I have been to the US open. I live 30 minutes away from the stadium. I am glad analysis are being done about the umpire's calls and how other men have been little bitches too recently And we ALL immediately thought of McEnroe going on a performance art monologue. He was celebrated for being a bitch.

I'm sure this person who is literally a millionaire more than a hundred times over, and is arguably the most successful person to ever play her sport is doing okay. She's not a victim. Her behaviour sucked; she totally lost her composure when she realised she was being outplayed, and started deflecting blame from herself on to the umpire. Which is a totally normal sports thing, but no less childish when Serena does it.

It's okay to really like an athlete, and also to say that they have behaved shittily at some point.

It was just dinner; not a dinner party. I knew someone would bring up her money. It's always something.
