What is your homework tombot? I am two weeks behind on my homework, but I just have an exam at the end so it doesn't really matter.

I drove through the Paradox Valley today.
https://coyotegulch.files.wordpress.com/2011/11/paradoxvalley.jpg?w=452&h=272
It's a salt valley, meaning it was created when salt deposits underground were eroded and the top collapsed. there is still 14,000 of salt underneath it, so when the dolores river bisects it, traveling a whole three miles, it picks up so much salt that they started a de-salinization project in 2009 in order to clear it out, because it has a big effect on downstream water quality. the project injects water deep into the salt beds and constantly triggers little earthquakes. by pure coincidence, i was listening to little earthquakes by tori amos while i was driving through it. just kidding about that part.

Saw A Simple Favor without knowing much about it (and only just discovered it was a Feig joint before I went). It was to the psychological thriller roughly what Spy was to spy films, if that sounds up your alley.

Someone who is not english speaking asked what a mortar and pestle is called (they just saw one on tv). I said 'mortar and pestle' which I guess is not what is expected. So I described it as mortar = bowl and pestle=hard dildo. So bowl and hard dildo.

I started a new D&D campaign today with a new character, an elf rogue assassin who is very cheerful and constantly spouts motivational workplace sayings like "the only difference between try and triumph is just a little umph."

I’m volunteering at a Hokkaido potato and pumpkin farm and gloriously out of touch with everything. I’m starting to think that the pumpkin farming lifestyle may be what I need, maybe Sake brewing in the off season.

The Chinese food place closest to my house is inexplicably closed on Tuesdays, so I had to order lunch from a different place that frequently forgets part of my order. They sent everything correctly today, though.

not sure what thread to bump so why not this one. I just learned that "Noteboom" is a real last name:
Noteboom, Notenboom and Nooteboom are Dutch surnames originally meaning "nut tree".
― moose; squirrel (silby), Tuesday, 5 March 2019 20:08 (five years ago) link
Author Cees Nooteboom is named every year in the lower tiers of possible Lit Noble Prize winners - due mostly to wishful thinking on behalf of the Dutch tbf. A win would cement the surname around the world tho.
