We all know the Bush family in no way represents the Republican Party or its true values, aside from providing the party with a senator, a vice president, two presidents, and two governors.

He's going to have to see some indication that they are serious about reforming before they get U.S. aid. He's not just going to provide it willy-nilly. And so asking for some kind of show that the Ukrainian new President Zelensky is serious is part of the deal. He's just not going to write him a blank check. There was no quid pro quo...."

even if you somehow swallow all of that, you have to believe that trump was willing to take the risk of tasking a backchannel group (led by the smartest man he knew, rudy giuliani) to take on the near and dear subject of corruption in Ukraine, and that it just happened to be Ukraine, and the subject of his earnest effort to reduce corruption in Ukraine juuuuust happened to be a Biden.
