jolene club remix (BradNelson), Thursday, 31 January 2019 22:10 (five years ago) link

Lol Nabozo I suspect several 1975 fans also voted for Peggy Gou. I certainly did.

Tim F, Thursday, 31 January 2019 22:10 (five years ago) link

traditionally I mostly just care about the albums poll but damn this was an excellent list. thank you so much everyone

gman59, Thursday, 31 January 2019 22:11 (five years ago) link

bobbins wins even tho the bobbins thread is in shambles, goes to show anything is possible when you like the best kind of music

karl...arlk...rlka...lkar..., Thursday, 31 January 2019 22:11 (five years ago) link

I won’t believe it until you’ve updated the playlist, forks

breastcrawl, Thursday, 31 January 2019 22:11 (five years ago) link

oh yeah last year was that one Charli XCX tune yeesh

omar little, Thursday, 31 January 2019 22:11 (five years ago) link

Damn, Black Dresses was in my top 10, but not high enough...

tangenttangent, Thursday, 31 January 2019 22:12 (five years ago) link

great stuff as usual everyone. well, poll-runners anyway. voters we will have words ;)

ffs I could have made a difference. one goddamned place higher. thoughts & prayers. -_-

imago, Thursday, 31 January 2019 22:12 (five years ago) link

that would've been quite the way to kick off the poll

simmy simmy ya, simmy yam simmy yay (voodoo chili), Thursday, 31 January 2019 22:12 (five years ago) link

anyone doing an imgur set of the images

jolene club remix (BradNelson), Thursday, 31 January 2019 22:12 (five years ago) link

should i post my blurbs here or in the afterparty

they're not booing you, sir, they're shouting "Boo'd Up" (Will M.), Thursday, 31 January 2019 22:12 (five years ago) link

Nice one, all you credible people!

human and working on getting beer (longneck), Thursday, 31 January 2019 22:13 (five years ago) link

first time I haven't heard the #1

― Your sweetie-pie-coo-coo I love ya (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn)

Might be the first time I've voted for the #1.

emil.y, Thursday, 31 January 2019 22:13 (five years ago) link

didn't vote for "it makes you forget" but have no complaints about it winning, this is the best and most ILM top 2 in a while and makes up for the relative uneventfulness of a lot of the results

a bad showing for kpop but at least afropop had a decent showing

thanks for running the poll seandalai, forks, and moka, great work

ufo, Thursday, 31 January 2019 22:14 (five years ago) link

The #1 will have a shelf life shorter than Susanne Sundfor. But it is also the best song in the top 10 imo

een, Thursday, 31 January 2019 22:14 (five years ago) link

Also, aside from my #1, I did the thing of not voting for any tracks by the same artists as I voted for albums. It's not a rule for me, but the spread worked better for me this year. Black Dresses may have made it if I hadn't done this. I'm sorry.

emil.y, Thursday, 31 January 2019 22:15 (five years ago) link

xp sundfør still very much on the shelf in my house

monotony, Thursday, 31 January 2019 22:16 (five years ago) link

lol I just looked at my ballot and my only placement was my #25

rob, Thursday, 31 January 2019 22:16 (five years ago) link

Thanks, forks and Moka and seandadata - great work as ever

Jeff W, Thursday, 31 January 2019 22:16 (five years ago) link

The #1 will have a shelf life shorter than Susanne Sundfor.

lol wut ILM is still in love with everything she does

Johnny Fever, Thursday, 31 January 2019 22:17 (five years ago) link

Sundfor would be on the shelf in my house if I could buy it at decent price to put on it.

MarkoP, Thursday, 31 January 2019 22:17 (five years ago) link

I won’t believe it until you’ve updated the playlist, forks

You have now!

If these are the true results I will treasure this track for the rest of my life.

Very well played, and chapeau to everyone who was involved in organising and executing this.

breastcrawl, Thursday, 31 January 2019 22:17 (five years ago) link

Yeah, was listening to her yesterday.

Dan Worsley, Thursday, 31 January 2019 22:17 (five years ago) link

Can definitely get behind that #1.

Hats off to the pollrunners, great work!

Gavin, Leeds, Thursday, 31 January 2019 22:18 (five years ago) link

that was my #1

WE DID IT FAM

davey, Thursday, 31 January 2019 22:19 (five years ago) link

for those who haven't heard, a fun cover of itgehane: https://youtu.be/Mcc158scJ1Q

simmy simmy ya, simmy yam simmy yay (voodoo chili), Thursday, 31 January 2019 22:19 (five years ago) link

Never heard #1 and I dig it. Had heard the Beach House and Simmy before and love them.
That's pretty much only ones I'd ever go out of my way to hear again.

A True White Kid that can Jump (Granny Dainger), Thursday, 31 January 2019 22:19 (five years ago) link

Good #1 but probably the list I've participated in with the least amount of stuff in my zone.

abcfsk, Thursday, 31 January 2019 22:21 (five years ago) link

And now a song that should have been top 10 or even a good deal better
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p8HoEvDh70Y

I'll just post this one. My ballot was full of afro-pop. Askamaya, Bana, Gbona and Club Controller could have had decent chances.

Nabozo, Thursday, 31 January 2019 22:22 (five years ago) link

"toast" rules and i'll have to start following the dancehall thread

ufo, Thursday, 31 January 2019 22:23 (five years ago) link

Yeah, that's great, would have been very happy to see it in the actual rollout.

emil.y, Thursday, 31 January 2019 22:26 (five years ago) link

All 77 of Moka's gorgeous images:

i was a little sad to not be a part of things this year, but Moka, Forks and Seandalai killed it - thank you all so much, i've got so much new stuff to listen to!!!

gr8080, Thursday, 31 January 2019 22:27 (five years ago) link

Toast was my #1 ;_;

rob, Thursday, 31 January 2019 22:27 (five years ago) link

Koffee is great.

And yes, no fakeouts; we're done here!

Fuck the NRA (ulysses), Thursday, 31 January 2019 22:30 (five years ago) link

the graphics are great. good work moka

||||||||, Thursday, 31 January 2019 22:32 (five years ago) link

I was so happy last year when moka agreed to help when I bounced from future poll running. VERY HAPPY as it turns out. Beautiful stuff.

Johnny Fever, Thursday, 31 January 2019 22:35 (five years ago) link

What was it about the fake number one that made it a joke?

saer, Thursday, 31 January 2019 22:38 (five years ago) link

It was beloved everywhere else online 'cept round here

Johnny Fever, Thursday, 31 January 2019 22:38 (five years ago) link

this poll has been kind of a de facto lurker poll for a couple years now
I'm here for saer.

campreverb, Thursday, 31 January 2019 22:39 (five years ago) link

me too tbh

Fuck the NRA (ulysses), Thursday, 31 January 2019 22:43 (five years ago) link

Ah, "Nobody" was my #2 and "Boo'd Up" made the bottom of my ballot (just below Greta Van Fleet). Good stuff.

silent as a seashell Julia (Sund4r), Thursday, 31 January 2019 22:44 (five years ago) link

Johnny Fever, Thursday, 31 January 2019 23:24 (five years ago) link

Discovering Koffee's four 2018 singles has been one of the great ancillary effects of the poll rundown for me.
