Hood is backing up my 'fresh legs' theory.

In situations like this it puzzles me why coaches don't go for fresh legs more often, but keep their exhausted starters in forever.

stotts is on ilh i guess

feel like that loss was survivable for the nuggets but would not have been for the blazers
― J0rdan S., Saturday, 4 May 2019 06:17 (five years ago) link
wow uh staying up for that would not have been a good idea but i’m sad i missed it. can they give them an extra day of rest?
― call all destroyer, Saturday, 4 May 2019 11:14 (five years ago) link
today is their day of rest. no extras. After that kind of game, I expect the players will be allowed to come in for any physical therapy they need at whatever time they wish to arrive.

Murray did so much good stuff last night I was worried about him earlier this season but I think he’s got it.

Damned lucky for the Raptors they aren't playing tonight!
― A is for (Aimless), Saturday, 4 May 2019 16:52 (five years ago) link
I predict the Nuggs-Blazers game on Sunday will depend on which bench can deliver the most productive minutes. Kanter will be torn up worse than ever. All the starters will tire more quickly. We'll probably see sloppy execution all over the place, because the will to win will be strong as ever, but the minds and bodies will be depleted. Might be ugly, but getting the win will be critical for both teams.

Next game whatever. Doubtful I guess isn’t out but calf bruise sounds not great. Wonder if he got it when he tripped embiid

This was my thought last night as the OTs moved along, too:
In situations like this it puzzles me why coaches don't go for fresh legs more often, but keep their exhausted starters in forever.― A is for (Aimless), Friday, May 3, 2019 10:37 PM (yesterday)
― A is for (Aimless), Friday, May 3, 2019 10:37 PM (yesterday)
And yes, Hood proved this theory out. (Note: I don't think this theory really applies to Joker, Dame, CJ, maybe Murray/Millsap ... although Joker was gassed at the end and it cost the Nuggs.)
Stotts said after the game he really only put Hood in because Harkless was cramping. So he doesn't get any credit for Hood's heroics.
He should've put Collins back in, too. That kid was playing out of his mind in regulation.

also that Will Barton performance, imo, was more of a "wtf" than Hood! The Thrill was terrific.
