Why does the new Anchor advert use the theme from Desmond's?

These people are determined that you pronounce their name to rhyme with 'kangaroos', even if you don't want to and even though they know no-one will.

an aside: the Dark Milk that's currently being advertised by jason donovan and kim wilde, has anyone seen any in actual shops?
― koogs, Saturday, 1 June 2019 20:46 (four years ago) link
I had some, it's an unremarkable halfway house between dairy milk and bournville, almost certainly appearing at one of those shops that sells end of line food cheap near you, soon

McDonald's coffee adverts right now "we don't need to [some gimmick] to sell you our coffee" No, you have a captive audience for your fucking horrible coffee, nobody is choosing to go there for a coffee when other options exist.

Oral B is Crest elsewhere. I think they made Crest into Oral B in the UK because Crest is not a very highly regarded brand here.
― Funky Isolations (jed_), Saturday, 17 August 2019 00:03 (four years ago) link
I haven't seen the ad in question but if a Crest ad was made outside of the UK then it makes sense that it might be overdubbed.
― Funky Isolations (jed_), Saturday, 17 August 2019 00:05 (four years ago) link
An Oral B ad, rather.
― Funky Isolations (jed_), Saturday, 17 August 2019 00:15 (four years ago) link
We're usually in tuned to ads where the audio has been redubbed from a different accented English, I didn't get any hint of that from the oral b ad.
I did see they added a "Hello, I'm a dentist, and I use this toothbrush too" addition.
― Mark G, Saturday, 17 August 2019 08:14 (four years ago) link
How are we only just talking about the oral b ads that turn up twice in every single ad break on UK telly in the past two years? I've seen these women more than my closest friends and family
