Tad, that farmer one is terribly sad!

Trayce (trayce), Tuesday, 7 June 2005 00:12 (eighteen years ago) link

Ack, I meant to make that a longer post but my desk phone rang.

Trayce (trayce), Tuesday, 7 June 2005 00:20 (eighteen years ago) link

Tad, that farmer one is terribly sad!

i agree -- that's why i chose it.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 4 July 2005 13:50 (eighteen years ago) link

i read the bear thing as a combo of aldo, sean and jordan's interpretatins.

jermaine (jnoble), Monday, 4 July 2005 18:22 (eighteen years ago) link

i didnt really get the "happy brothers"...is there anything to get, as it were?

this comic is everything i want from comic strips. the drawing is at times so beautiful, like on this one:

At the very least, it turns the idea of how you should react to your father's death upside-down. There is the possibility that they have murdered the father as well.

Casuistry (Chris P), Monday, 4 July 2005 19:12 (eighteen years ago) link

Yeah, I always assumed they killed the father.

These are all pretty great.

sleep (sleep), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 01:03 (eighteen years ago) link

I totally wanna have this guys children, he is WONDERFUL, I've probably said that about 3 times already on this thread haven't I?

Trayce (trayce), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 01:07 (eighteen years ago) link

What I particularly love about his style is how varied it is - he hasnt got "a style", he seems expertly able to adjust the kind of artwork he does to suit the theme of each strip. Some of the strips are in an almost classic DC style artwork, some are wimsical and childlike, some very detailled and well-coloured.

Trayce (trayce), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 01:10 (eighteen years ago) link

I thought nothing could beat the spoof Spiderman comics, but some of these are GENIOUS!
That valentine one is now my favourite

Ste (Fuzzy), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 07:35 (eighteen years ago) link

and I cannot spell genius ever

Ste (Fuzzy), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 07:35 (eighteen years ago) link

Flash fact: the blowjob gopher is the icon of one of the Live Journal techsupport people. I knew I'd seen it before.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 09:06 (eighteen years ago) link

I'd never heard of this before today, but these are horrible and very, very funny. Thanks for the original post Tuomas!

Bill A (Bill A), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 09:49 (eighteen years ago) link

This is also the first time I have ever seen this, and it has totally made my post-long-weekend day worthwhile! (Not to get all "happy fantasy world" about shit)

I like that one Nine Inch Nails song about PBF, the one where he goes "WEE-A-BOO! TEH HAGN! THA FEEJOO! WEE-A-BOO! DANG ONG! YA NEEZ!"

I don't get last week's strip, someone please explain!

Tuomas (Tuomas), Monday, 5 June 2006 14:23 (seventeen years ago) link

seconded

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Monday, 5 June 2006 14:42 (seventeen years ago) link

Wacky/insane old guy who thinks he is a train engineer and has outfitted his van accordingly, featuring his dear little dolls as passengers having tea, decides to merrily end it all.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 5 June 2006 14:45 (seventeen years ago) link

Yeah, I figured as much, but I don't really see the joke. Is it that the first panel makes us think he's a real train driver, and then the second and third one reveal the truth? If so, it's a pretty weak gag.

Tuomas (Tuomas), Monday, 5 June 2006 15:11 (seventeen years ago) link

http://www.citypaper.com/sb/97171/perrybible.jpg

The latest strip implies Gurewitch's well of humour is beginning to run dry.

Tuomas (Tuomas), Monday, 5 June 2006 15:13 (seventeen years ago) link

The new one (Woolves) is great.
