I love Ariana, and I wish I could say deserved winner, but in what climate / timezone / hemisphere is “Boyfriend” the Song of Summer?

It was a fairly big hit in a lot of countries, and has a fresh, summery vibe. Doesn’t seem like a crazy choice!

Don’t get me wrong, it’s nice and it totally fits on this thread, but it’s not even a big hit by Ariana’s standards, let alone the kind of dominant song that defines a summer for lots of people, which is the point of this type of award afaict.

Turns out it’s a social media award, so it really reflects online mobilization.
