I'm getting pretty good at becoming conscious of when my hands approach my face, but if there's an itch, I just think of how recently (or not) I washed my hands, switch from a fingertip to a knuckle and scratch it briefly anyway.

It would be incredibly helpful if this covid outbreak wasn't concomitant with the outbreak of whatever this disorder is that is making all of the nerve endings in my face fire pretty much constantly.
