Hov is all over it, like nearly every song (every song), I wonder if JE was struggling to write?

a bunch of these songs were clearly recorded in 2011 at the latest. his voice has totally changed, you can tell how much older he sounds on 'neverending story' than 'ghost of soulja slim'

and in the case of shiny suit theory, i was crazy about that song when i was 20 in 2010. glad to see it finally on streaming services tho.

then again on 'soulja slim' he drops a black panther reference, so maybe even each individual track is a hodgepodge

yeah everything just feels...weird and disjointed, and not in a cool way

yeah, people are gonna pull some bars and they'll look good, but it doesn't work as a listening experience

alb is getting rave reviews, this board isn't populated with uzi stans at the moment.

it's really two albums, tbf, bundled together. most likely for chart reasons. just ignore the "deluxe edition" and listen to the original.

tho im listening to the deluxe disc right now and the future, 21, and keef songs are hitting pretty hard.

of course, listening to uzi is always an experience where i'm like 'this knocks, what's this one called?' only for me to find out that it's called 'yessirski'

digging urgency a lot. the concept and skits are so hilariously disconnected from the album tho, like to an extent I was literally lolling

the non deluxe version is a pretty great album

philly and Pennsylvania in general just seem so ... relevant for neo-america; its combination of urban decay contrasting with gentrification and its proximity to trump-country Appalachia makes it feel like a microcosm of forgotten usa. i feel like for this album it sort of contributes to this stylistic slurry of regional and popular styles and makes the emo blend in seamlessly. uzi's drugged out exuberance concealing pain, being vulnerable and aggressive at the same time, just feels very touching as we all slog through the long 2016. obviously, it's unsustainable, and the amount of young rappers dying lately is just so incredibly sad, and then those that do succeed being turned into anhedonic shells a la future or drake, it all just points to a sense that things need to slow the fuck down and that we need to disconnect from this hyper individualistic life
