Thanks for starting this thread - I've been listening to as much as I can by Empress Of over the years but think only discussed on the shambala thread. Will investigate new stuff!

is it produced by David Wrench?

looks like she and BJ Burton are the exec. producers, and there's also prod. credits from Jim-E Stack and Mikey Freedom Hart

Every once in a while I still get a glimpse of the Cocteau Twins influence that was more pronounced early on, but generally I'm less into what she's been up to since she began releasing full lengths.

it's indeed much better than the last, i'm not blown away but it's solid enough

Jonny Fever otm. This is sounding really bland to me atm.

wow! I feel like I'm the only person out of anyone I know who's listening to this. I will say it does come alive when the weather is pleasurably warm.

I just feel like I've never heard music that sounds exactly like this (and enjoy it so much!) -- feels so singular to her ear and her musical sensibilities

I really like this, the hooks are a lot stronger than anything she's done before

she has a new EP called Save Me that's getting released this Friday, and the pre-release tracks have been some of the best stuff she's ever done. it feels like a culmination of all the sounds and sensibilities she's explored throughout her records.

It's really solid. Nothing beats "Dance For You" but the song with Jim-E Stack comes close.
At the height of my "Dance For You" obsession last month I revisited her two previous albums, and the 2020 one in particular is so good and I think extremely underappreciated.

Yeah, the 2020 album is great. I wore it out at the time, need to go back to it. (Not least because I just bought tix to see her opening for CRJ in October.)

Disappointed to not have room to nominate "When I'm With Him" in the 2010s poll

Bigger dance beats on this than I was expecting! Agreed with monotony on the highlights.

def a coulda been vibe sadly coalescing around this artist but “hat trick” from her first EP is so good
