They've filmed at least a month more, based on people who saw the cast still filming scenes outside the house in mid-March, but I guess we won't see it. I expect this season will not continue even after they can film again. Shame, because I liked the direction things were going in episode 40

I'm not going to post precisely what I want to post because I'd be doing exactly what they did in the other direction, and I don't think Kai is in a particularly happy or secure place himself, but it really doesn't surprise me that (given they existed, which is itself fairly shocking to me) his fans, taking into account his comedic style, would have been viciously toxic

I just can't see the series going on from this, the whole format, the whole loss of innocence, the whole kayfabe/reality balance which was just delicate enough to begin with, now collapsing in today's social media dominated society.

One thing that gives me a little comfort is the Another Terrace (Behind The Scenes) clips from that episode where her housemates were trying to help Hana through her anger. It left me with a little more hope.

But yeah, I just can't see how the show could ever recover from this. Gah. RIP Hana.

Yeah, sorry for not being clear, I mean like the entirety of the Terrace House franchise will not be able to recover from this.

If you compare the Hana x Kai drama to an early conflict: Misaki & Natsumi in BGitC. It was revealed that the producers/editors made a conscious decision to edit their fight off the show, because it was so ugly and it could possibly have an effect on both talent's careers.

But then Aloha State happened which led to the combination of Cheri/Wez/Taishi that the producers/editors allowed us to view pure toxicity.

But the Kai x Hana episode was just soooo terrible on all sides, just a bitter stain that would be unlikely to wash away. What was once marketed as a boring, innocent, or however else the show was targeted to the West... that show is long gone.

Oh well, I strongly recommend people hunting down BGND, I feel like that was the pure essence of the franchise, where things were less contrived.

Without having seen the other seasons except BGND, I agree this casts doubt on the premise of the show being a good idea
