"He's a Pho-to-shop-aaaaaah," Joe said Monday in New York, smiling and obviously mimicking 50's song "Window Shopper."

Fat Joe can tell by the pixels and having seen many shops in his day.

hasn't been any discussion of Soulja Boy's new protege V.I.C. and his song "Get Silly" which is another post-snap teen joint...it just lead off 106 n park (which I was watching in order to see Snoop, Quik and Teddy Riley perform "Sensual Seduction" in a hillariously off-key manner)...unfortunately this song is indeed quite silly and not in a good way:

I actually really like the hook and dude's voice but the beat just doesn't have enough bounce to it, would have liked a lot more if it had a fuller, clubbier beat as opposed to the sparse "Crank Dat" sound which is better for hopping around than for actual dancing....

Preview of the Matrix 12, Tuesday, 11 March 2008 22:11 (sixteen years ago) link

i brought it up a few weeks ago but not by name. i do think it's okay-- wish soulja boy wouldve dropped a verse or something. not like im pining to hear him rap or anything (esp over his own beat) it just wouldve been cool imo

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 11 March 2008 22:11 (sixteen years ago) link

disappointing dance too

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 11 March 2008 22:12 (sixteen years ago) link

this v.i.c. dude's gotta good voice tho (also the "you can't but a rubberband around a milliaaaaan line")

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 11 March 2008 22:13 (sixteen years ago) link

you guys think a-rab is pissed that some other dude on soulja boy's label got a single out before he did?

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 11 March 2008 22:17 (sixteen years ago) link

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 11 March 2008 22:21 (sixteen years ago) link

http://www.myspace.com/nyoil

like i said i doubt he's gonna turn any cranks around here, but i'm sorta in the mood for some political shit

M@tt He1ges0n, Wednesday, 12 March 2008 16:43 (sixteen years ago) link

pshhh i think we have enough variety of opinions here that you don't have to go crazy with the caveats on a reccomendation like that.

Alex in Baltimore, Wednesday, 12 March 2008 16:47 (sixteen years ago) link

yeah i spose. if anything i almost would like to hear him with someone with a little more aggro production style, 9th wonder is so neo-soul smooth all the time

M@tt He1ges0n, Wednesday, 12 March 2008 16:50 (sixteen years ago) link

as long as yr not, like, pipecock or kevin john bozelka i have no prob w/ people recommending pretty much any kind of rap as long as its GOOD

deej, Wednesday, 12 March 2008 16:50 (sixteen years ago) link

there are only two kinds of music, good rap and bad rap.

Jordan, Wednesday, 12 March 2008 16:51 (sixteen years ago) link

M@tt He1ges0n, Thursday, 13 March 2008 00:49 (sixteen years ago) link

yeah i had no real position on whether them doing a song with FOB dude is inherently a bad thing but now finally hearing this song it does really suck.

Alex in Baltimore, Thursday, 13 March 2008 00:49 (sixteen years ago) link

i remember fallout boy being more mall punk than volkswagon commercial indie, what happened?

M@tt He1ges0n, Thursday, 13 March 2008 00:51 (sixteen years ago) link

Still not as bad as the Lil Wayne "This Ain't A Scene It's An Arms Race" verse, tho.
