Mr. Bender: Do you think he’s still you still think he might be Antifa?

fuck this shit - say anti-fascist

nashwan, Friday, 19 June 2020 14:14 (three years ago) link

this part

Mr. Bender: Do you think that there’s systemic racism in the country?

Mr. Trump: In the country?

Mr. Bender: Yes. In America.

Mr. Trump: Hopefully not. But there’s always something going on that’s bad, because there’s always something going on. Here, let me just see that for a second. (Mr. Trump’s assistant hands the president a chart with the number of coronavirus deaths, which total about 12,800.)

OK. Yeah. So, that number. When he mentioned he said 12,500. So he said at 12,500, one person died under the age of 18. So I think that a lot of these are older persons. So I’m very happy I’m young and in perfect condition. OK?

Mr. Bender: You said you hope there’s not systemic racism. Do you think there is?

Mr. Trump: I would like to think there is not. Yeah, I would like to think there is not such systemic racism. And it would be whatever I can do to make myself correct on that thought, I’d like to do it. Now, unfortunately, in the real world, there is some. But I would like to, whatever I could do to reduce that or get rid of it, I’d be very happy with.

Are you asking in police departments or the U. S.?

Mr. Bender: I meant systemic racism. In police departments, in hiring practices...

Mr. Trump: Yeah, I’d like to think there is not but unfortunately, there probably is some. I would also say it’s very substantially less than it used to be.

Mr. Bender: How are you thinking about some of these issues? I know your position on law and orders is very clear. You’ve had some public events with the police. You had some victim’s families in here yesterday. But when it comes to...

Mr. Trump: By the way that was a very impactful moment. The people I met were incredible people.

Mr. Bender: Impactful in what way? What did you take away from that?

Mr. Trump: Meeting the parents, in most cases, parents. of young people, sons in many of the cases, a daughter in one case, that were killed is devastating. To see the parents and so needless, I mean, it should never have happened. I met with a large number of parents that were just, I mean, their lives have been torn apart.

Mr. Bender: Did any of those cases resonate with you? Any particular story that stands out?

Mr. Trump: All of them.

Mr. Bender: Was there one that stood out?

Mr. Trump: All of them. Ahmed. Ahmad. He is the young man who was running. It was just sad to see. The mother was a fantastic woman. Made a great impression. They all made a great impression on me. In fact, after that I had the speech with the law enforcement. So we had two meetings. And it was very interesting because they were very different meetings, very important meetings. But the impact of meeting the parents was very important.

that video was fucking hilarious. as always, the real victim is Trump. at least quality-wise it's better than the one he tweeted last night of the little white and black boys embracing that misspelled "toddler"

this is the type of sentiment that will hit hard with people longing for "normalcy." ... i feel like this general message that the media is out to divide America and trump stands, instead, for solidarity, will be effective. usually he just screeches in a messy way about "fake news!" and "trump derangement syndrome!" so it seems idiotic but actual media people could make it hit home harder. i think this video is a glimpse of that

Just admit you're Chuck Todd.

Josh said "Maybe?" a week ago, and five people dismissed it a week ago, this is not a major issue that needs debunking itt

(Josh, my partner who's a physical therapist and works with stroke victims all the time said that he didn't look like someone who'd had a stroke)

change display name (Jordan), Tuesday, 23 June 2020 12:29 (three years ago) link

I don't really think he had a stroke. Just the combination of tilting that glass of water that particular day, and the ramp nonsense, was odd. Of course, he is obese and carries himself oddly, anyway, so you have to figure he's in some constant state of discomfort: back brace, plus lifts, plus tall and obese, plus diapers, plus ill-fitting suits, not to mention having a perfectly coifed hair helmet that he doesn't want to mess up that forces him to limit his own mobility to preserve said coif. Plus poor eyesight and a refusal to wear glasses, and so on ... he might be a run of the mill mess perfectly in line with many of his age, but he's a mess all the same. Mentally, I think the stuff people point to as dementia is just streams of bullshit brought on by him refusing to read or memorize or practice speeches (the unprepared book report presentation theory). If he "dominates" conversations then he controls the conversation, which means not getting called out for ignorance or inability to read.

back brace, plus lifts, plus tall and obese, plus diapers, plus ill-fitting suits

Not to defend this clown but it's also possible he's wearing a bulletproof vest, which would certainly affect things like standing and walking normally

If Trump gets beaten (especially decisively) in November, that helicopter walk video is going to be the Saigon embassy image of his presidency.

Night of the Living Crustheads (PBKR), Tuesday, 23 June 2020 14:18 (three years ago) link

I honestly don't know much about presidents wearing vests and how often they do it. I wonder if he would brag about it or not?

Josh in Chicago, Tuesday, 23 June 2020 14:18 (three years ago) link

Barack and Michelle's clothes had to be altered to accommodate vests for their inauguration walk. Right-wingers used that imagery for years as a way to call her fat and/or secretly a man. Classy!

If anything, Trump is probably wearing a Nathan Fielder chili vest that he can take a slurp from when he starts getting peckish.

Well, that's a fine howdy adieu! (Old Lunch), Tuesday, 23 June 2020 14:38 (three years ago) link

also a good way to make a buck on the side

Fuck the NRA (ulysses), Tuesday, 23 June 2020 16:21 (three years ago) link

but it's also possible he's wearing a bulletproof vest

he was addressing the US Military Academy at West Point and the Secret Service routinely sweeps areas where a president is about to spend time in public, so a bulletproof vest would seem to be unlikely.

kind of chilling to hear trump go on an extended rant about mail-in ballots, his supporters cheering him every time he pauses to take a breath. he repeated 10 lies about mail-in ballots and voter fraud, and added a few i'd never heard of. "- and who is signing them? what, are they signing them at the kitchen table?" he also started saying "at the end there's going to be huge bat-" before cutting himself off.

later:

"this will be, in my opinion, the most corrupt election in the history of this country. we cannot let this happen, and they want it to happen so badly. we believe in the sacred principle of one person, one vote."

oh yeah, and he just said "some people don't want to hear this, but we must have voter ID"

i'm sure the takeaway will be that trump is really sweating a lot, more than i've ever seen him sweat. it's easier to talk about that then how intensely surreal and creepy it is to have a wannabe dictator openly describe his fascist plans while everyone cheers him on

next up is Reagan, who recently had a negative experience with "cancel culture" due to her religious beliefs.

she saw an evangelist demand that white people get down on their knees and apologize for the color of their skin. but she wouldn't take it. she told the preacher (on twitter i think):

"it is a problem of the heart. it is not a problem that can be solved by any law, protest, or march"

it was those beliefs, her defense of the heart, that caused her to get canceled by her leftist friends. the internet exploded at her - she lost some friends. then she lost her job. but here's the thing - a job is nothing compared to the grace of god.

and her experience is just one example of what's happening across the entire country.

lol now she's talking about Aunt Jemima getting canceled!

Reagan says the first Aunt Jemima was "the face of the american dream", she fought for equality. now the american left mob is trying to erase her legacy.

now she says that leftists are making jesus christ the face of white supremacy. last week she thought leftists thought jesus was the face of socialism. now he's the face of white supremacy. reagan is confused.

finally, from the bottom of her heart, reagan would like to think trump for never, ever apologizing to the leftists. god bless america

but they are fascist plans on behalf of keeping those cheering people comfortably in power and well-served ahead of everyone else. ofc they cheer that.
