in watching rudy gobert attempt to catch a donovan mitchell pass and then take a single step without losing the ball, i get why donovan mitchell hates him

J0rdan S., Monday, 17 August 2020 20:08 (three years ago) link

Guys the bubble officiating is just embarrassing

Matt Armstrong, Monday, 17 August 2020 20:11 (three years ago) link

a huge change from the normal course of officiating

J0rdan S., Monday, 17 August 2020 20:13 (three years ago) link

I’ve always defended NBA officiating but this has just not been right, game after game

Matt Armstrong, Monday, 17 August 2020 20:13 (three years ago) link

mitchell would be awesome playing with a big like nurkic or bam who can make a play after getting passed the ball

J0rdan S., Monday, 17 August 2020 20:13 (three years ago) link

lol

lag∞n, Monday, 17 August 2020 20:14 (three years ago) link

joe ingles not the answer on jamaal murray either...

J0rdan S., Monday, 17 August 2020 20:14 (three years ago) link

welp utah needed this one

lag∞n, Monday, 17 August 2020 20:15 (three years ago) link

Like I said, Jamal Murray just gets hot. He’s a different dude sometimes

Matt Armstrong, Monday, 17 August 2020 20:16 (three years ago) link

xps - this was a prominent feature of the season before it was shut down in March, too. and by "this" I mean "Matt complaining about the officiating".

man it must be demoralizing to pour as much into a game as Mitchell just did and still be looking at 0-1.

Evans on Hammond (evol j), Monday, 17 August 2020 20:19 (three years ago) link

Murray really stole it

Matt Armstrong, Monday, 17 August 2020 20:21 (three years ago) link

Jokic and Murray spent a ton of time working out together during quarantine and they do look better than ever

Matt Armstrong, Monday, 17 August 2020 20:22 (three years ago) link

Denver went 22-41 from 3 and still needed OT to win. Not sure I feel terrible about this game if I'm Utah.

— John Hollinger (@johnhollinger) August 17, 2020

hollinger with the opposite view

J0rdan S., Monday, 17 August 2020 20:27 (three years ago) link

denver just has way more in the bag than utah does, so I disagree

k3vin k., Monday, 17 August 2020 20:29 (three years ago) link

i would feel terrible about it because i lost a winnable game as the underdog. there's nothing predictive about it unless it was due to something denver fundamentally can't adjust to

ciderpress, Monday, 17 August 2020 20:42 (three years ago) link

yeah underdog taking first one on the road changes the whole series

lag∞n, Monday, 17 August 2020 20:51 (three years ago) link

Denver hit a lot of threes and Donovan mitchell had one of the greatest playoff performances ever. Both things are unlikely but

Matt Armstrong, Monday, 17 August 2020 20:54 (three years ago) link

They really do need harris back tho, you can’t keep asking small forwards to defend guards

Matt Armstrong, Monday, 17 August 2020 20:57 (three years ago) link

defense was non existent in that game for the most part

Spottie, Monday, 17 August 2020 21:09 (three years ago) link

gonna skip this toronto/nets series no thx.

you can't trick me into watching that series. 9 points is infinite

ciderpress, Monday, 17 August 2020 22:08 (three years ago) link

lol

Embiid has yet to come on the court. It’s 6:10 on the clock before the start of the game.

Over-under on how early in the 1st the Sixers go down by 10? I'm going to set it at 7:30.

Brad Stevens looks like he was a 4-year college player at a mid-major who is now getting his Masters at the school and is an unpaid assistant for his former coach.

So the Celtics seem good

Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 18 August 2020 00:46 (three years ago) link

josh richardson starts playing like himself the minute ben simmons gets hurt.... not exactly a ringing endorsement for brett brown

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 18 August 2020 01:01 (three years ago) link

the bench is still an issue

Robert Williams being good could change everything for the Celtics

been saying this

lag∞n, Tuesday, 18 August 2020 01:07 (three years ago) link

embiid was gassed after the first quarter

lag∞n, Tuesday, 18 August 2020 01:08 (three years ago) link

they did a good job mixing up defenses on embiid later in the game...brought some late doubles and turned him over.

kanter played well, i would consider getting him more minutes. theis will always try his best but this is just not his series. if i were him i'd just be looking at my direct deposit statements after every game because he has the worst job in basketball right now.

tatum and brown were great, obv brown's availability going forward is important. kemba did an amazing job of settling things down, drawing some fouls, and playing under control down the stretch.

the sixers are really easy to stop outside of embiid isos.
