i don't think anyone was criticizing trent btw, he was doing his best and he's competent but like physically he's not in the league of guys who do an ok job against lebron.

LeBron used a lot of wily tricks on him

The NBA 3-Point line is 23.75 feet from the basket.

According to the NBA's player tracking system, Damian Lillard's last 2 3-pointers last night were 31.4 feet and 34.0 feet from the basket. pic.twitter.com/k0OeK2AXkA

^^ it’s not his fault but he has no chance on the lebron, it’s not a tenable match up for the series

The real question for the Bucks is this: are the below-average percentage shooters they freely allowed to fire from downtown all season still below-average percentage shooters in this open gym setting?

— Mike Prada (@MikePradaNBA) August 18, 2020

interesting point i hadn’t considered

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 19 August 2020 15:43 (three years ago) link

pretty much nothing we’ve seen in the bubble would suggest it’s a good idea to let the heat shoot a bunch of three pointers, if that ends up being the second round match up

How many games in a row has Melo hit a 3 in the last 3 mins of a close game? Five? Six?

— Chris Herring (@Herring_NBA) August 19, 2020

true melo thriving in the pick up game environment of the bubble.... makes you think

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 19 August 2020 15:46 (three years ago) link

that is interesting....apparently most guys are loving the shooting background in the gyms down there.

Jacque Vaughn says the Nets have made some "small tweaks" defensively but he doesn't seem too concerned about "VanFleet" or his shooting. Unlike Lillard, Vaughn says that, historically, "VanFleet" hasn't hit those long 3s at a high rate... pic.twitter.com/KNIv7eqO1D

i think the bojan and clarkson pieces were nice rotation adds that moved the needle for them a bit. despite his awful game last night d mitch is has taken a small jump as well.

omg what did you type to find this gif? (Spottie) wrote this on thread 2019-20 NBA Regular Degular Season thread on board I Love Hoops on Jan 15, 2020

the clarkson trade is playing out better than the conley trade for the jazz.

championship winning vibration (Spottie) wrote this on thread 2019-20 NBA Regular Degular Season thread on board I Love Hoops on Jan 3, 2020

a good trade for the jazz i think. they need anyone that can even pretend to score and clarkson can do that. if he can hover at league avg from 3 on 5-6 attempts that will help the jazz a ton.

never even heard of this. seems insane that an athlete has it

Spottie, Wednesday, 19 August 2020 21:24 (three years ago) link

:( per mayo clinic:

Overview

Foot drop, sometimes called drop foot, is a general term for difficulty lifting the front part of the foot. If you have foot drop, the front of your foot might drag on the ground when you walk.

Foot drop isn't a disease. Rather, foot drop is a sign of an underlying neurological, muscular or anatomical problem.

There was an nfl player who was able to overcome foot drop, maybe one other athlete I’ve heard of.

Matt Armstrong, Wednesday, 19 August 2020 22:10 (three years ago) link

I think it’s also something that can go away. Anyway it’s amazing what he’s able to do with it. Wears an orthotic to correct it.

trunk's full of pearl and lonestar (PBKR), Wednesday, 19 August 2020 23:11 (three years ago) link

God, for the Sixers to win, Embiid has to be the best player in the series and that's going to be tough/impossible with the way Tatum is playing.

trunk's full of pearl and lonestar (PBKR), Wednesday, 19 August 2020 23:21 (three years ago) link

sixers def came into this game w/ a better idea of how to get clean looks but there's something poetic about them furiously trying to post their way into keeping pace w/ jayson tatum shooting pull up three pointers. 2 out of 3 possessions is a post touch for embiid, harris or horford... $90 million worth of fadeaways from the block
