Murray’s defense just not good enough, for the second year in a row

personally I embrace the bubble and its cosmic mysteries

One thing that’s going on here is that millsap looks finished, hasn’t looked right all bubble long and can’t stay in front of anyone

Denver is horrible

jazz having ingless and nuggets missing barton might swing the series... just having a guy on the wing who can put the ball on the floor with time running down and make a play happen

jazz obv playing impossibly well this half tho. i bet game 4 conley looks awful and murray goes off. this is a 7 game series.

the difference between ingless and jerami grant in this series is really instructive regarding how much more important playmaking is in today’s game now that teams are so focused on denying corner threes. grant is a nice 3 and D player in the classic sense but watching this series it feels behind the times a bit to have traded a first for him. denver rly needs a tertiary playmaker on the floor

how much of the defensive stuff falls on jokic? for a center ppl rarely talk about his defense. feel like almost every other center in the league gets more scrutiny there

feel like 3 and d was always kind of a crock it really helps to be able to put the ball on the floor make plays etc be good at basketball

jokic is a special player but it's turning out to be hard to construct a serious playoff team around him.

i think there's plenty of talk around his defense falling on the bad side of average. he's never going to move his feet well and can't really drop effectively either.

their bigger problems now tho are missing their best two wing defenders and have to give mpj time in the playoffs.

jazz shooting in this game is plainly not sustainable

"pure" 3 and d guys make sense when there's like a top-5 offensive guy who has the ball all the time and commands the whole attention of the defense. in other circumstances they may disappoint.

he’s an alright defender, probably averagish imo, but with harris out especially so much falls on him and he’s not great in the pick and roll or 1 on 1

my opinion on grant changes with like every game but obviously with barton and harris out his limitations are more apparent

Jokic is an above average defender now, but he’s not a rim protector and when everyone is getting blown by that’s a problem.

Missing Barton and Harris is just a huge problem defensively, especially with Porter and millsap’s apparent limitations on the perimeter

The rules make it hard to defend on the perimeter now but the jazz are just brushing past every time

Jord is right that the whole series could flip in the next game tho, that’s how the playoffs are

sure the jazz shot well but they also got a lot of very open looks

ultimately i think these teams have the same limitations at least offensively. maybe denver’s is just that bad but to me game 4 just feels like a classic set up for a game where denver plays with game 7 intensity and hits some shots and the jazz are a little less well oiled. i have nothing rly to back this up except for feelings about the arcs of playoff series. if i’m wrong it’s very bad news for denver!

Again a lot of it is millsap. Millsap and Harris were the core of the defense and Millsap looks cooked.

yeah it’s hard to have $30 million devoted to a player giving you pretty minimal impact on both ends

SVG is awesome on TV, i really hope he’s in the permanent TNT rotation. i support his brother as a character but stan is such a good analyst

it was hilarious when he went on lowe’s pod recently and had all these advanced stats ready to go and zach was actually flustered.

The Celtics just look great, great vibes. I wouldn’t count them out in the finals that’s for sure

i think they’re prob a player or two short until hayward comes back and maybe even then. but they have the right kinda team and one of the best coaches so i put them in the group of teams who could win this

Hayward is 6 weeks probably... the bucks just look so bad. I do think hayward is key, he’s one of the best 4th options ever

even w/in the limited confines of "posting up joel embiid every possession" the sixers are shockingly uncreative about getting to that point
