NBA 2020-21 reg season 1st half thread

xp yeah it speaks to the widening gap between the season and the 'offs and the dangers with having a single source of offense when good teams are really locked in.

the biggest thing about a harden trade to me is your second post, like what does harden actually want?

teams just need to be able to talk to him and ask will you move your body at all when you dont have the ball

i watching him the other night and hes out of the frame sometimes camped up so far above the 3pt line lol

it's like nba compartmentalization--possessions where i have the ball, possessions where i do not have the ball

it’s not that wall looks amazing so much as he looks good enough to more or less be a wash with westbrook and houston got a first round pick out of it, and it might be a pretty good pick at this rate

yeah hes def playing better than you would expect after having the worst injury and not playing basketball for two years

he looked awesome tonight but he also hit a bunch of mid range jumpers. he was finishing well at the rim tho and looked pretty athletic

at some point i'm going to have to dig in and understand how julius randle is averaging 7 assists a game

dont get me wrong its great john wall is plying good i just was looking at his leg which is in a big brace and it doesnt seem to have a lot of get up and go in it plus i watched him land on it and grimace but he is a skilled basketball player who can still do stuff and his leg will probably improve

idk why but i feel like harden would come back to the general realm of team basketball if he was on a team that could compete for the finals. i think the consensus is that he’ll just act like a shithead permanently but he’ll have a lot to prove if he gets another shot at playing for a great team. him playing off the ball isn’t really hard to fathom from a fit perspective, it’s just a question of him trying. i think a team just needs to give him a reason to try again. he’s also putting up efficient 35 point double doubles with ease while living life like rick ross, i think i needed to be reminded how good he is

yeah thats the thing it wouldnt take that much effort for him to play normal basketball, and its not like he doesnt care about basketball or winning he obviously cares a lot, def a big change of scenery candidate

collin sexton gonna make the all star team?

you'd like to see him fill up the rest of the box score a bit more but the shooting/scoring is impressive

feel like everything that happened in the first month of this season is going to seem like an insane dream

rushing the start was prob not a good idea

i think it's the right move for the next 5 years but it's going to cause some pain (for us, the ball fans) in the short term

Randle has always been a good passer with a tunnel vision streak.

It’s crazy how Wiggins has been such a failure that no one even mentions him. I called it!

Wiggins has been ok!

He’s the only player shooting above normal from three. He just has like no court presence out there. Like you said, he’s an avg nba player

i don't bear any ill will toward them but i admit to being morbidly fascinated in warriors fallout--like, a lot of nba coverage has been geared towards this team that isn't going to deserve it much longer. the athletic has 4 guys who basically cover the warriors full time and this is a team that is ultimately going to be about as good as the russ triple-double year thunder at best.

wiggins PER has tanked down to 11.1 which is worse than any full season he's played. he's shooting 36% on 2s.

And yet he’s been the second best player lol. It’s pain right now. Otm about the athletic dudes. I reckon they’ll leave Kawakami and thompson on the dubs and move the rest soon if they continue to play poorly.

feel like things would have to get extremely weird and bad for kerr to get fired. it'd take a lot more than andrew wiggins being disapppointing. i bet steph would improve the ratings of the [*checks wikipedia*] korn ferry (???) tour.

I would think Steph seems politically bound in his 50s.

feel like at a certain point if none of these very different coaches can get through to you....

was pretty funny explaining to my brother in law, a huge bandwagon dubs fan who had always been more into the sf baseball giants, that andrew wiggins was not that good of a basketball player, he had all these idea about how wiggins would help and so forth, at one point i said something like if i know one thing about basketball its that andrew wiggins is not good

But! I do think he’s probably better than dangelo Russell, it’s pretty close tho.

imo russell is better, was still a good trade on the merits, not sure if it was the ideal one for the dubs roster, but who knows what else they couldve gotten

they could end up getting a serious star in this years draft, which is cool

i still think it made sense when they thought they would have klay and needed wiggins in a true 3 and D role. overpaid obviously but he would've been more suited for that roster than rusell would have. w/ klay out they need scoring & creation so bad they prob would rather have russell tho the pick is lining up to be so valuable that even knowing everything they know now i think they would still do it

that pick + wiseman is looking pretty good right now, their path back to contention with the big 3 is murky tho

can you imagine what sort of haul they cld get for steph et al
