Norway is one of the 11 countries I've visited and it reminded me of there. Fortunately there are only what... 4 cities in Norway?

Stavanger is the first city in this thread I've been in (still didn't recognize it).

I think it would have taken me a year at least to guess that. I'd got it into my head that it was Riga but just couldn't make it fit

i have very little confidence that is correct, i just wanted to guess one ... never seen a pic w/o a guess before. after this, i will go back to observing. :)

Don't think it's Seville or Southern Europe because people seem to be well wrapped up, despite the fact that there are leaves on most of the trees therefore it's not winter. So it's somewhere with a colder climate I'd say. Plus the little green shelter says cold to me. The 'a' flags should make this easy, but are proving resistant to my google searches. My first impressions are a well to do northern European city - but the "taxi" sign is a bit lo-fi. Trees look quite distinctive too.

There is a palm tree (queen/king palm common name) on the left, so not too far north.

Yes you're right - this one is confusing! But those trees lining the street are strange - I guess they're like plane trees and have a bit of a latin city feel to me...

Reminds me a bit of some parts of Mexico City.
