yeah i did not see "actually julius randle is one of the top pf's in the league" coming
― class project pat (m bison), Tuesday, 16 February 2021 18:39 (three years ago) link
dunno if he reworked his shot or something... but a leap from four of his first five seasons being in the 20%s from three to a 40% shooter on 4.5 attempts per game doesnt seem sustainable. basically doubling his assist numbers too. wild stuff. and the knicks are winning games and should/might make the playoffs.

could just be on a heater but its cool to see.
― a nice controlled drift (Spottie), Tuesday, 16 February 2021 18:42 (three years ago) link
the whole offense runs through him, which feels like it should be a bad idea, but he's taken leaps with his court vision, and yes, his shooting. his effectiveness will probably dip once his shooting comes back to earth, but his inside game and his passing should still play.
the knicks are making a push for his inclusion in the all-star game, and it's hard to say he isn't deserving.

i'm not a julius randle scholar but i thought he was in noticeably better shape coming into the year. i'm casting doubt on pretty much any player whose shooting is "randomly" spiking up this year tho
― J0rdan S., Tuesday, 16 February 2021 18:45 (three years ago) link
it's strange, because it felt like randle was trying to assume this kind of role last season, but now he's succeeding. he somehow averaged about 3 apg last year on 27% usage which is pretty terrible. his usage and turnovers are nearly identical this year, but he's upped his ast% about 10 points and his 3p% by 13 points and that recipe turns an overused ball-hog into a offensive focal point and all-star.

losing zingis no longer looking like the world's dumbest move by the knicks too

That Goldsberry graph is just for the last 15 games. Feels like Utah go on a heater like this every year, it’s just usually later in the season. Hope that they can keep it up and be legit challengers in the top tier.

jazz have a 9.2 point differential for the season, theyre good, the thing that separates this years team is theyre good offensively not just defensively, not saying theyre a lock to go all the way there are some other good teams in the west too, but the jazz are legit imo

yeah. conley returning to form, bojan being healthy, a full season of clarkson, mitchell taking a mini-leap from already very good to great. it's kind of all clicking at the right time.
― class project pat (m bison), Saturday, 20 February 2021 16:01 (three years ago) link
i still think they'll lose to either LA team if those teams are healthy in the playoffs, but they should at least make it interesting.
― class project pat (m bison), Saturday, 20 February 2021 16:02 (three years ago) link
the matchups with both LA teams are not great but at this point i think im gonna say "theyve got a shot"

conley playing like a borderline all star gives them another legit weapon they haven’t had in previous years. their starting 5 just makes a lot of sense from a fit perspective and they have 3 really solid guys off the bench. beating teams with lebron james and kawhi leonard is super hard so if they don’t make the west finals i don’t think it’s some slouch on them, they are clearly a top 5 team in the league. royce o neal prob gonna have hit some open 3 in the playoffs i’d imagine

According to Embiid, his mid-range game is what unlocks his diverse bag of tricks. Embiid has made 53 percent of his two-point shots not at the rim, per Cleaning the Glass. His previous career-high was 41 percent. As a point of comparison, Kevin Durant shot 53 percent in his best mid-range season, the 2018-19 campaign.
