Excellent work Chap!

I'm trying to decide between Black Cherry and Tales Of Us which both perfectly encapsulate different sides of why this band are so special. They're probably the most consistent band of the last 20 years.

Agreed on chap's preference. I was thinking "Superior Kylie" instead of "stompy glambots" for Black Cherry and Supernature. Felt Mountain was a contrast to what I was listening to at the time, and loved how it asserted itself in my listening that year. The Seventh Tree swerve was unexpected, and the better for being so, for me as a fan. Great catalog.

I seem to listen to Seventh Tree the most these days. The first half is as strong as any half of any record they've put out, but I would feel amiss if I didn't vote for Supernature. Very torn right now.

I think I've also worn out Felt Mountain - while it's amazing, whenever I put it on it sounds almost cliched to me now

if Goldfrapp hadn't been around for twenty years and been so good at reinvention, the later albums would be considered classics. It's easy to overlook how good they are when they've been so consistently excellent for two decades.

I feel like I should've voted for Felt Mountain - nearly did.

I agree that Silver Eye is their weakest of the ones I've heard.

I should probably listen to Head First at some point.
