Most of Colorado Blvd in Pasadena has a blue line on each side of the street indicating the do-not-cross point for viewing the Rose Parade. It's even roughly the same distance from the curb as the current pic. There's also a pink line down the center of the street that the float drivers use to steer, since they usually can't see out the front windows.

Yep. I liked the first pic because of the misdirection but figured we'd have been here for months if I didn't post another

It looks just like the Tesco petrol station in Milton, probably looks just like a hundred others too.

The roofs of the houses look quite distinctive - like a nod to local vernacular architecture, but I can’t think of where.

I’m going to say Hereford.

The petrol station in Tesco's Hereford faces the store in that aspect - the kiosk backs on to the roundabout.

Also, for future reference, if there's a dual carriageway in the picture it's not Hereford.

I had that feeling as well! I walked that part of the coast a couple of years back and swear I walked up that street. There's probably a name for that. (Senility? Hiraeth?)

getting more Plymouth vibes than Torquay if it is a coastal city, even though I've only ever seen it from a train! I checked a few Plymouth Tesco petrol stations and couldn't find a match for the one above.
