I don't think Simmons and Embiid are particularly tight. After this season, Embiid's gotta be thinking, "I need to get this guy out of here before my knees give out." Maybe he forces the issue?

generally agree with this but on the other hand seth curry started a playoff game this evening

yeah but seth curry has an elite skill. i think pritchard is a good back up PG, nice find at the end of the first round, but i don’t think he’s a starter

seth is playing out of his mind but if he's "starter caliber" that's a relatively recent development

no seriously thats what hes known for, and i mean were talking about seth curry here hes not that great

he was hitting crazy shots all through college

he was taking and making deep threes a bunch this season

off the dribble and so forth

yeah he could become a really really good shooter. it's the other parts of his game that probably have a ceiling.

i think he has good playmaking skills/instincts too, but hes also a small unathletic slow guy

nobody from the suburbs of portland is becoming a hot shot nba guy it’s just not a reality

its even worse: if the rockets pick falls to 5 or below, thunders get it. okc could have 1 and 5. cade, kuminga, and shai would be a core.

can they grab and go on the fast break? guard 1-5? would likely be a devastating roll man if given a chance? simmons is a good player! with a rare and valuable skillset! he could be tall draymond! i am worried about his mindstate but kemba and a couple picks is a worthy risk, his contract is big so if he totally flames out its a problem true

the thing amongst others that drives me crazy about simmons being a tall guy who cant shoot yet does not play center is his ball handling and passing skills would be so much more valuable there, centers dont usually have those skills so if you put a guy who does at center then youre team has a skill advantage, if you play him at point guard he is just another point guard who can dribble and pass except he cant score

idk i think the cavs are trying to win soon, i dont think theyre in "trade our best defender for future picks" zone yet but i cd be wrong, i dont follow that franchise

yeah idk where the cavs are at but lets assume the sixers have to trade simmons which i think is not a bad assumption, i dont what the offers are going to look like, how much better than kemba and nance do they get, probably not that much better, conceivably not any better, possibly worse, that contract makes simmons a pretty big bet

that's something but it doens't seem right that philly only gives up simmons (negative value) and a low first to get back beal. maxey won't move the needle either

the other catch is that okc are in no rush to dump kemba whereas philly need to make a deal state

idk man. maybe if youre playing against old style teams with a big center. but with simmons at center youre playing small ball, and youre going to run into more and more teams who are also playing small ball but proper 5 out small ball where everyone can shoot

simmons can guard the 3pt line its no problem
