every time ive watched him play during his current hulk phase hes seemed very legit, he can defend and run the offense some too, hes good imo, prob pretty underrated at this point

lag∞n, Thursday, 19 August 2021 01:57 (two years ago) link

feel like you could play him at the 1 where he has good size pretty easily especially if you had some other creators like say the boston celtics do

lag∞n, Thursday, 19 August 2021 01:59 (two years ago) link

he's doubled his free throw rate over the lsat four years from 4 FTA per game to 8 FTA. he was also a 90% shooter from the line this year after being in the low 80s as recently as two years ago. i think that has a lot to do w/ it, his overall shooting numbers aren't much better tho obv the volume has increased

reflecting upon it its fucked up that the raptors drafted scottie barnes forcing the magic to take jalen suggs, suggs deserves to be with a good org like the raps and barnes is the prototypical magic pick a huge athletic freak who doesnt really know how to play basketball, signals got crossed or something they should make a trade

SUGGS

i want that kid to succeed very badly

classic use of ambiguity there, forks

it is to laugh, like so, ha! (Aimless), Friday, 20 August 2021 18:08 (two years ago) link

go out and earn it, big guy

call all destroyer, Friday, 20 August 2021 18:09 (two years ago) link

clarifying: i very badly want that kid to succeed. i love rob!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JdKsINvNfPE

that’s a big investment in time lord but good for him

J0rdan S., Friday, 20 August 2021 19:14 (two years ago) link

i think he can be good but yeah you'd love to see one more year before committing to him as your guy

ciderpress, Friday, 20 August 2021 19:42 (two years ago) link

there is definitely some protection here against him blowing up and commanding a lot more. i guess if jarrett allen can get 20 million bucks a healthy year of rob could get that. but i don't see much disaster potential unless he has a really significant injury.

call all destroyer, Friday, 20 August 2021 20:04 (two years ago) link

yeah $11m a year is barely over the mid level, pretty reasonable really

lag∞n, Friday, 20 August 2021 22:19 (two years ago) link

or 13 w/e

lag∞n, Friday, 20 August 2021 22:20 (two years ago) link

big thing for him is just staying healthy, hes already a game changer

lag∞n, Friday, 20 August 2021 22:21 (two years ago) link

thats patrick beverly money!!1

micah, Friday, 20 August 2021 23:43 (two years ago) link

should also be noted that smart + robs salaries are pretty much an exact match for brad beals

lag∞n, Saturday, 21 August 2021 00:26 (two years ago) link

Yah. Pretty good. Thought they covered a lot of it in the Ron artest documentary.

Breaking on @SportsAgentBlog: Nerlens Noel has sued NBA agent Rich Paul, claiming Paul is responsible for $58 million in lost earnings.https://t.co/mW5a9SdxQI

lag∞n, Tuesday, 24 August 2021 21:38 (two years ago) link

oops

lag∞n, Tuesday, 24 August 2021 21:39 (two years ago) link

Following the party, Noel parted ways with Walters and signed a Standard Player Agent Contract (SPAC) with Paul.

lag∞n, Tuesday, 24 August 2021 21:39 (two years ago) link

It seems like he has a case.

Matt Armstrong, Wednesday, 25 August 2021 00:32 (two years ago) link

nerlens noel doing this while being signed to the CAA knicks doesn’t feel like a coincidence to me

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 25 August 2021 00:40 (two years ago) link

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 25 August 2021 01:06 (two years ago) link

is there someone on the internet who's mapped out the nba landscape of agents and agencies? i recognize some names, but i really have no idea who represents whom, who has the most clients, highest value of contracts, etc.

circles, Wednesday, 25 August 2021 01:32 (two years ago) link

nate duncan and danny leroux did an agent grading pod within the past couple years where they tried to take the major guys, find all their clients, and go through some of their recent deals. i remember nate saying that he couldn't find a comprehensive list and that he had to cobble a lot of it together from reading old news stories. maybe somebody has put something together since then but if so it hasn't crossed my radar.

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 25 August 2021 01:42 (two years ago) link

i am checking with the crew in the dunc'd on discord, will let you know if there is anything out there.

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 25 August 2021 01:45 (two years ago) link

and like clockwork they come through: https://hoopshype.com/reps/

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 25 August 2021 01:51 (two years ago) link

i'd like to see a family tree style breakdown for the whole nba with players/coaches/media figures grouped by sports agent and media agent etc

micah, Wednesday, 25 August 2021 02:12 (two years ago) link

wow

k3vin k., Wednesday, 25 August 2021 02:12 (two years ago) link

The Bulls, Cavaliers and Trail Blazers are close on a three-team deal sending Lauri Markkanen to Cleveland, Larry Nance Jr. to Portland and Derrick Jones Jr., a first-round pick and additional draft compensation to Chicago, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium.

pure rim rest (Spottie), Friday, 27 August 2021 16:56 (two years ago) link

Jones was a bust in PDX. Maybe Nance will be a better fit.

it is to laugh, like so, ha! (Aimless), Friday, 27 August 2021 17:04 (two years ago) link

excited to see him in a new role/team

pure rim rest (Spottie), Friday, 27 August 2021 17:10 (two years ago) link

they had to throw away a 1st to get off a bad contract they signed tho. not good.

pure rim rest (Spottie), Friday, 27 August 2021 17:11 (two years ago) link

i can’t make heads or tails of this deal except that the bulls getting a first for a guy they didn’t want anyway is pretty good.

nance gives the blazers some beef i guess, ppl have been swearing that he’s been really good the last few years. the blazers do love trading first round picks tho jeez. i thought lauri was a great buy low candidate this summer but i don’t think the cavs really bought low and now they’re heavily invested in an overcrowded front court paying lots of money to two players who are only going to suck up minutes that should be going to the one player who could maybe turn the franchise around. gilbert/altman might be the worst owner/GM combo in the league

J0rdan S., Friday, 27 August 2021 17:37 (two years ago) link

the blazers are certainly in fuck it mode with picks and nance does make them better. not sure why the bulls didn't just take nance themselves.

call all destroyer, Friday, 27 August 2021 17:42 (two years ago) link

given how many firsts the bulls have lit on fire to assemble their team i think this is good for them

J0rdan S., Friday, 27 August 2021 17:53 (two years ago) link

yeah i could see them just wanting a first back even if it's lottery protected for 7 years

call all destroyer, Friday, 27 August 2021 17:54 (two years ago) link

i bet it conveys this year but i guess if they trade dame before next offseason that one could drag out indefinitely

J0rdan S., Friday, 27 August 2021 18:10 (two years ago) link

the blazers are certainly in fuck it mode with picks

they have a first ballot HOFer in Lillard and zero chance to land a big name talent in the free agent market, so trading away future picks is just about their only path to short term improvement. five years from now they'll suck be known as a 'scrappy, blue collar' team.
