2021 nba offseason draft free agency etc

who's better, high draft picks who didn't pan out or guys who were regarded as lottery-level picks but then fell during draft season for some reason or another?

weirdly phrased question, but you'd think the analytical thing to do would be to favor "blue-chip" type guys who were overlooked because of weird draft season reasons

yeah i would think so especially if you weeded out the guys who just got injured or had felonies or whatever, one thing ive wondered for a while is at which point is the conventional wisdom most accurate, feel like someone should do a study of mock drafts and try to figure out if the consensus is better three months out before the hysteria sets in or whatever

or even pre-season. if michael porter jr. skipped college entirely instead of getting injured during his lone season, no doubt he would've been a top 3 or so pick

cole anthony is another guy who was a projected top-10 pick who struggled as basically the only option on a bad north carolina team, fell to the late first round and now looks like viable lead guard

kinda feel like hes a backup but who knows

i do like him tho he moves around very furiously even tho he is small

seems like his rep is that people don't love playing with him but he's talented enough to stick around for a while, probably on many different teams.
