IIRC from Alan Watts’ autobiography, Patrick Leigh Fermor was expelled from King’s School Canterbury for being seen to associate with the daughter of a local shopkeeper; conduct throughly unbecoming of a young gentleman being educated in a school at the heart of the Church of England.
