Boy, that one pig stopped being so tough as soon as the bear went up on its hind legs.

Well, the pig only had to be defensive enough to scare the bear away, he wasn't planning to eat the bear.

It was brave enough for the pig to hold its ground.

My wife saw a black bear in Florida last week! She asked the driver if that was a common sight, but he already had his camera out, which is answer enough. And there was a bear sighting in Madison, Wisconsin last week as well. Bears everywhere!

Been living in Montana six weeks, haven't seen a bear yet. I do own a can of bear spray, though, just in case.

Story from my neighborhood (relatively speaking):

Bear Injures Raft Guide Camping Along Middle Fork Flathead River

Around 6 a.m., a commercial raft company was on a guided overnight trip with two guides and three clients when a bear entered camp, the release states. The victim, an adult female guide, reported she was sleeping outside on the ground when she sustained injuries from what officials believe was a black bear.

Bear spray was deployed but the bear returned multiple times to camp, according to the release.

The victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at Logan Health in Whitefish.

I said to my wife that the bear probably came up and poked at her with its paw, like, "Hey, you awake?" Hope they don't kill it.

Around 4:15 this morning I heard a couple of big banging sounds outside, enough to actually wake wide up and take a peek outside. A bear had knocked over my trash can out on the street (today is pickup day), got upset by the lack of shitty food garbage (compost all the way!), and then decided to go full Kool-Aid Bear through the gate in the fence, across my backyard, and finally Kool-Aid Bear again through the fence I share with my neighbors on the SW side. Somehow, the bear avoided knocking down the rudimentary fencing for our eventual vegetable garden for which I am thankful.
