Lots of Soviet-style housing blocks. One building I can see that might conceivable be a church, otherwise no churches. Main road in pretty poor condition. Cars look like they're driving on the right. Huge gash in the landscape on the left, looks like it might be an old open-cut mine or something. Couple of power plant type buildings. I'm guessing one of the poorer ex-Soviet countries.

A cuckoo clock to complete the Swiss theme, but that first photo sure as hell ain't Switzerland. I'm still guessing Eastern Europe

The more I stare at that second photo, the more it looks like some kind of Lynchian hell. What's with the light switch that has no switch? The creepy pictures on the wall, of birds and cows? Why the shelf of rolled towels, in what looks like a bar/restaurant? The cowbells, the sad pot plant, the surveillance camera on the wonky ceiling?

still focussing on the first pic as the interior ones never do much for me. it's incredibly similar to Kryvyi Rih in Ukraine but while there are hundreds of aerial shots to go off i can't get any of them to line up

I mean, the eastern European idea of what pizza is are pretty varied and bizarre, from my experience, so the ski chalet thing makes some weird sense. Y’all ever had zapiekanka?

It is a true chasm! But like you’ll be in a bar that looks like a ski chalet next to a saltmine and they’ll also have a “pizza” place.

It is among the charms of eastern europe tbh.

I love how difficult this is. None of these towers contain big names/logo/signs, does that mean we're somewhere non-capitalistic?

Woah, that's one hellishly large (and mostly recently built) city. The mountains in the distance give me a bit of a South American vibe, but there aren't many cities there that could be that big - maybe Sao Paulo. If it's not that, then I'm guessing somewhere in China.

Can't see any similar mountains in Sao Paulo aerial shots so I don't think it's that.

To the right there are some lower rise Soviet style apartment blocks, which doesn't align so much with South America, so I'm leaning towards China.

I can't spot a river in the photo posted, but it does have some resemblance to the (in)famous Lanzhou new city.
