Yes to Syd.

Steve Lacy still topping singles charts with "Bad Habit" . I like his Gemini Rights album and the single. Pharrell and Prince and hiphop tinged indie pop is alright with me (although ilx doesn't seem to have many fans of his)

On the other "The Internet" thread , someone describes "Bad Habit" as catchy but in an irritating way (my wife thinks that too I admit)

I thought this was about Syd Barrett and Steve Lacy (the jazz musician)

i'm very confused about "bad habit" becoming such a hit, it's plodding and clunky. feels like a very rough draft

like there's certainly an idea there but as-is it does nothing for me

Sounding like a rough draft might explain its popularity -- the single's certainly novel when I hear it on the radio.

I love "Bad Habit". That jazz guy is now officially "the other Steve Lacy" (he doesn't show up until Page 5 of the google search results on his name).
