We've got special forces in like two dozen African nations IIRC and it stays completely off the radar.

ISIS is severely diminished but still exists and operates within Syria and Iraq (might be wrong) still.

Van Horn Street I can’t remember if you’re a normal poster or if there’s something unusual about you or if you’re bad and hated or something. I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt for now!

No I was bad and let some people I disagreed get to me.

We can keep our wars low-key and the defense industry happy, though

To further Milo’s post, which I think is essential, it’s 22 African countries: a lot of it is counter-terrorism under the dumb name Operation Enduring Freedom (now Juniper Shield!) and/or anti-piracy (Somalia) and there’s basically even less transparancy about these operations than say Iraq and Afghanistan, a lot of it is training locals but there’s obviously situations where new weaponry and tech can be purchased and added to an autocrat’s arsenal so ymmv. There’s also the big camp in Djibouti that’s been there since the early 00s. However, it’s not all bad, sometimes it takes the form of medical assistance (like in Ghana this past year or so).
