yep, I just restrung my Dad's long neglected 70s dreadnaught acoustic with D'addario "gypsy jazz" strings, didn't know they were a thing before I spied them at the music shop, all wound nylon except for the high B and E, not quite as bright and loud as conventional strings but we were both very impressed with the tone and especially the action

two weeks pass...

Rotosound flatwound bass strings are the business on a Fender Jazz or P-bass. They are much brighter than most other flatwounds out there, but you put them on the single coil Fender basses alot of that kinda gnarly fret sound moving your hands is just gone.

I got more into playing basses with humbuckers these days, and the Rotosounds are a bit too dark in that arena, but they sound awesome on Fender basses.

I bought a Squier Classic Vibe 50s Precision that the previous owner had put La Bella flats on … mind blown, I hope they last because I will never buy anything else. They feel like chrome railings under my fingers.
