N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 20 April 2004 23:31 (twenty years ago) link

haha I was in tchai ovna tonight and, for the first time in my life, tried a hookah. synchronicity innit.

cozen (Cozen), Tuesday, 20 April 2004 23:40 (twenty years ago) link

How was the hookah for you?

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 20 April 2004 23:43 (twenty years ago) link

it was... okay actually. a bit cherry.

cozen (Cozen), Tuesday, 20 April 2004 23:45 (twenty years ago) link

I find them ultimately unsatisfying.

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 20 April 2004 23:47 (twenty years ago) link

Like hookers, I imagine.

I don't imagine very often.

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 20 April 2004 23:48 (twenty years ago) link

haha you're always at the hookers?

cozen (Cozen), Tuesday, 20 April 2004 23:49 (twenty years ago) link

lots of flavour coming out but very little on the way in.

cozen (Cozen), Tuesday, 20 April 2004 23:50 (twenty years ago) link

text from Cathy: "Cozen - I am in Paris eating pistachios by the Seine. I think you'd like it." *grumble grumble jealous jealous*

cozen (Cozen), Tuesday, 20 April 2004 23:50 (twenty years ago) link

my flavour comment about hookahs, OK?

cozen (Cozen), Tuesday, 20 April 2004 23:51 (twenty years ago) link

my text from Cathy: "Nick - I am in Paris pissing in the Seine. I feel strangely bohemian."

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 20 April 2004 23:55 (twenty years ago) link

my text from cathy: "in sex shop with status quo"

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 21 April 2004 00:04 (twenty years ago) link

I was in a Moroccan restaurant last nite and they had hookahs. Except on the menu they called them "hubblybubbly pipees".

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Wednesday, 21 April 2004 06:33 (twenty years ago) link

I feel so dirty, I just bought a suit.

cozen (Cozen), Wednesday, 21 April 2004 10:51 (twenty years ago) link

Are you going to resolve the ambiguity of that sentence?

N. (nickdastoor), Wednesday, 21 April 2004 11:21 (twenty years ago) link

he but/cut it too short : ((/))

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 21 April 2004 11:28 (twenty years ago) link

buying a suit, man!

hippyozen (Cozen), Wednesday, 21 April 2004 16:18 (twenty years ago) link

Are no posts on this thread to be longer than twenty words?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 21 April 2004 16:34 (twenty years ago) link

It's the Postcard aesthetic, you old hippy!

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Wednesday, 21 April 2004 21:14 (twenty years ago) link

The sound of 'young' Scotland.

N. (nickdastoor), Wednesday, 21 April 2004 21:15 (twenty years ago) link

'Scotland'.

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Wednesday, 21 April 2004 21:29 (twenty years ago) link

Racist.

N. (nickdastoor), Wednesday, 21 April 2004 21:42 (twenty years ago) link

You fapped without me! Glasgow is still better than Paris, even if we don't have a Pompidou Centre. Just to make it clear: I didn't piss in the Seine.

Cathy (Cathy), Friday, 23 April 2004 00:25 (twenty years ago) link

what the fuck does FAP stand for? (unrelatedly: what's ET short for?)

as much as I love Glasgow (and i do love it rather pathetically at times) I ain't buying that preference, cathy...

Robbie Lumsden (Wallace Stevens HQ), Friday, 23 April 2004 07:46 (twenty years ago) link

Fancy a Pint, Errol Thompson.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Friday, 23 April 2004 07:59 (twenty years ago) link

aaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Robbie Lumsden (Wallace Stevens HQ), Friday, 23 April 2004 08:00 (twenty years ago) link

It's the Postcard aesthetic, you old hippy!

Oh, I've never heard of that.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 23 April 2004 15:38 (twenty years ago) link

apparently seinfeld was in tinderbox last week (source: my new belle).

cozen (Cozen), Friday, 23 April 2004 17:49 (twenty years ago) link

NEW BELLE?

Is this ...the one? If not, does she know about ...the one?

N. (nickdastoor), Friday, 23 April 2004 17:55 (twenty years ago) link

Sorry - in all the belle excitement I neglected to get amazed about the Seinfeld in Tinderbox thing. How could this possibly be?

N. (nickdastoor), Friday, 23 April 2004 17:57 (twenty years ago) link

Jerry Seinfeld's a funny guy.

how could JS be in Glasgow??? How did my brother not know?

Robbie Lumsden (Wallace Stevens HQ), Friday, 23 April 2004 23:22 (twenty years ago) link

new belle, yes, nick. (she has a nice name too: eilidh.) you should read the 'dear [random]...' thread.

no, not her but another her.

all morley fans, notice: copies of '± nothing' are being sold in muzic zone (sauchiehall street) for £2.97 when its RRP is £11.99 - you should hurry along.

cozen (Cozen), Saturday, 24 April 2004 00:50 (twenty years ago) link

it's so weird that glasgow could still be trying.

RJG (RJG), Saturday, 24 April 2004 03:24 (twenty years ago) link

I didn't mean that.

RJG (RJG), Saturday, 24 April 2004 03:24 (twenty years ago) link

It's OK, RJG, I understand. Don't forget my card.

What if the Morley fans already have a copy of ± Nothing, cozen? I'm not sure if I am a Morley fan, but I have one. I haven't read it. I think I paid £2.99 for it, about three years ago. I was diddled.

N. (nickdastoor), Saturday, 24 April 2004 10:23 (twenty years ago) link

spotted, again: robbie lumsden, sat just off kelvin bridge, outside glasgow academy, at about midnight tonight. with chris (? he played football, once).

cozen (Cozen), Sunday, 25 April 2004 00:20 (twenty years ago) link

I think I like '± nothing', N..

cozen (Cozen), Sunday, 25 April 2004 00:46 (twenty years ago) link

I tried Glasgow in the triumvirate's absence. It was OK! Two French girls said I sucked but then said I was the nicest boy in Glasgow. It meant ± nothing.

N. (nickdastoor), Sunday, 25 April 2004 04:17 (twenty years ago) link

we could play pool, in the triumvirate's absence?

actually, how long are they gone?

cozen (Cozen), Sunday, 25 April 2004 09:06 (twenty years ago) link

...said I was the nicest boy in Glasgow

Nice to see that you are covering well for 96 in his absence.

ailsa (ailsa), Sunday, 25 April 2004 09:09 (twenty years ago) link

abcess.

RJG (RJG), Sunday, 25 April 2004 14:51 (twenty years ago) link

Ally is not nice! He's a monster.

I have only just got up. It's a beautiful day. I'm starving. I've ruined everything. I don't know about pool.

N. (nickdastoor), Sunday, 25 April 2004 14:58 (twenty years ago) link

I was only saying was all.

cozen (Cozen), Sunday, 25 April 2004 14:59 (twenty years ago) link

No, it's a good idea, but I don't want to think about things that involve more drinking and stinking right now.

N. (nickdastoor), Sunday, 25 April 2004 15:18 (twenty years ago) link

you're not playing pool properly.

cozen (Cozen), Sunday, 25 April 2004 15:19 (twenty years ago) link

I am trying oko's buffet more tonight, I think. sushi.

cozen (Cozen), Sunday, 25 April 2004 15:20 (twenty years ago) link

That sounds nice.

N. (nickdastoor), Sunday, 25 April 2004 15:42 (twenty years ago) link

Cozen - indeed sitting on the war memorial with Chris "Cunthead" Muirhead, vaguely aware that we were sitting on a regular late night pissing point...

such a nice night for sitting around discussing the stupidity fo disliking Elvis cause he ripped of black music...

man, you should have said 'ello...

Robbie Lumsden (Wallace Stevens HQ), Sunday, 25 April 2004 16:45 (twenty years ago) link

Glasgow is so beautiful today it's talking the piss.

N. (nickdastoor), Sunday, 25 April 2004 17:45 (twenty years ago) link

It was a really nice day. I had to spend a huge percentage of my weekly income on a pair of sunglasses (£15! the cheapest in boots!) otherwise the sunny day sickness would have struck me too hard...

i hate it that the sun makes me feel ill, it makes me sound like an horrendous goth (or worse: the narrator of garbage's awful "Only happy when it rains).
