a lot of people from a broad section of the centre + the right have been calling Hitchens a Putin apologist for years, even before the Ukrainian invasion.

Quit coffee 4 years ago and its honestly one of the best decisions I've ever made. Better sleep, mental clarity and emotional regulation. I used to drink 15 espressi a day (!) but as I got older I just...couldn't.If you have anxiety or insomnia really give it a go.— Aaron Bastani (@AaronBastani) February 24, 2023

Better mental clarity is when you appear on right-wing media.

if i was on 15 espressos a day it simply would not occur to me that this might be related to my anxiety and insomnia

It's my goto option when I've already had 6 coffees and need hot drink. You can make it very strong and add a bit of honey and it's as good as a meal.

A heaping teaspoon of Horlicks into a chocolate milkshake is the closest thing there is to a drugstore malted milkshake.

'Mental clarity and emotional regulation'
It is quite an odd thing to claim, implying that he was worse in these regards 4+ years ago.
Still, he is sincere in his tip. I'm afraid I won't take it as I like coffee.

I assumed Horlicks went bust as I can't see it in the supermarket. Maybe I blocked its existence out.

I ordered some from Morrisons and it was unavailable + substituted with vegan Horlicks. It remains unused in my cupboard because it's bloody awful and will no doubt remain there until it turns into a solid block. But honestly, the real stuff is good.

I can vaguely remember Horlicks sweets a long long time ago. I don't think they make them anymore.

I remember asking Paul Mason why he was fascinated by defence and security policy (it surprised me given his books had covered labour movements and technological change). The answer included “I liked playing with toy soldiers as a kid”.— Aaron Bastani (@AaronBastani) February 26, 2023

it seems Ash Sakar is now a regular on The Moral Maze, that show where idiots and bigots feign intellectual curiosity about this week's hot right-wing talking points. I bet if there was Radios back in the 1850s then her apparent hero, Karl Marx, would have found better ways of paying for his cigars than helping to legitimise ideological enemies like this!

I think a third selection failure for Mason might be a sign that he should put his parliamentary aspirations on hold for now, it's getting a bit desperate and the chances don't look too good for him. Not even a case that the CLP might not be too enthusiastic for a 2nd home owning English guy, they will almost certainly hate the fucker!

Wow! Coming in and out of London yesterday was quiet. Empty trains, emptyish tube. Today, by contrast, it’s packed. I guess the phenomenon of ‘TWAT’ workers (who go to the office on Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday) is real. Sadly I’m not one of them! 😅— Aaron Bastani (@AaronBastani) March 14, 2023
