dogshit MSM orgs not paying seems pretty bad for them, feel like most big companies are probably gonna folow suit because Elon's made the very idea of paying for Twitter such a radioactive & desperate thing. obviously Nazi rags like Stormfront and Daily Wire might swoop in but I kinda feel they can't afford it.

Never mind also all the local governments and non profit organizations absolutely can not and will not pay $120,000 a year for a blue check mark.

And again, the reason Twitter had verification was because they got sued over verification.

genuinely baffled by what Elon thinks is going to happen open sourcing all this code. nobody is gonna do shit to improve it and it may lead to a bunch of backdoors being discovered. best case scenario he just finds new ways to embarrass himself.

I’m likely the only one bored enough to still occasionally check the For You tab so this is of limited interest. But they’ve significantly deteriorated the functionality over the past day.

Yesterday there was still a clear indication of why tweets were recommended as “For You” — if you clicked “Not interested” it would bring up a list of options such as “Show fewer follows from [X account you follow]”. That’s all gone now. It’s obvious there’s a lot more random Twitter-selected recommendations in For You since they made the change too.

We’ll see if they really go through with the promised self-defeating termination of legacy blue checks over the coming day.

the whole thing is so amazing, he's not only making Twitter much much worse he's also making it basically impossible for it to ever recruit any new users again. and all for what'll total out to like 10% of the interest payment, which he has to pay because he stupidly offered 300% of what the company was actually worth. and now it turns out to be a massively convoluted switch. this shit's like something out of Arrested Development

Is he just going to keep pouring money down this hole indefinitely? Is he making enough profit from Tesla etc to offset his losses from Twitter?
