genuinely baffled by what Elon thinks is going to happen open sourcing all this code. nobody is gonna do shit to improve it and it may lead to a bunch of backdoors being discovered. best case scenario he just finds new ways to embarrass himself.

I’m likely the only one bored enough to still occasionally check the For You tab so this is of limited interest. But they’ve significantly deteriorated the functionality over the past day.

Yesterday there was still a clear indication of why tweets were recommended as “For You” — if you clicked “Not interested” it would bring up a list of options such as “Show fewer follows from [X account you follow]”. That’s all gone now. It’s obvious there’s a lot more random Twitter-selected recommendations in For You since they made the change too.

We’ll see if they really go through with the promised self-defeating termination of legacy blue checks over the coming day.

its kind of funny thinking through the logic of ranking likes higher than retweets, retweets are what you want other people to see but likes are what you actually like, idk feel like a retweet is just fundamentally a stronger endorsement and should be ranked higher
