Really needs to be said. Just don't get it. Over the last year he has every now and then reappeared to mostly snipe at posters he dislikes. No other contribution of any sort, that I could see. He was only banned because he just couldn't step away from the events currently unfolding.

Why hasn't he been permanently permanently banned yet?

The short answer is "we don't spend much time thinking about it." By week 3 of a one month ban, I've almost completely forgotten that the recipient even exists. It's usually week 5 or 6 before I remember to lift the ban unless someone reminds me. The ban-ee tends to lay low for a while until they lose control of themselves and get back on their bullshit, followed by another ban. Enough tempbans turn into a perma perma. I can't remember if VHS has had more than one ban before this one.

That was removed at my request. I made an innocuous joke in connection to something Thermo posted--not even thinking about world events--and asked WmC to remove it. I wasn't clear, and he removed Thermo's post too--my fault.

Sorry, I thought someone just posted a spoiler by accident! To clarify, immaculate grid is not filled with controversy or hateful dialogue

My joke involved Rusty Staub...really, it was pretty mild.

I was personally sick of him dumping tweet after tweet in serious threads and just stirring constantly. Told him he was being annoying last week as well!

xpost wager it was the way he approached discussion in the antisemitism and Israel threads (not that what he was saying was wrong, per se, but....dude was racking up complaints in both threads)
