No Sam, 'course not.

And I have to admit, I'd rather have stayed home banging on the drum today, too.

That is my new favorite euphemism.

"What are you doing tonight?"

"Oh, gonna go home and kick back, bang on the drum, you know..."

"Oh, you play the drums?"

"Nope."

luna (luna.c), Tuesday, 11 April 2006 22:54 (eighteen years ago) link

So, for the record, it's almost 5:00 here now, and in fact I did not work much at all.

martin m. (mushrush), Tuesday, 11 April 2006 22:54 (eighteen years ago) link

Me either. We win!

luna (luna.c), Tuesday, 11 April 2006 23:06 (eighteen years ago) link

I'm feeling down today for no reason I can pinpoint. I haven't had any blue moods in weeks and weeks. I also had fallen off taking my anti-depressants regularly and have just now restarted. a coincidence?

Miss Misery xox (MissMiseryTX), Tuesday, 11 April 2006 23:33 (eighteen years ago) link

'ola Dee! Glad to hear of new friendships in your life though I wanna smack you for your subtle self-put-downs. ;)

Hola seƱorita! I'm glad to hear about your new house! It looks cute! And hon, I'm not putting myself down. I'm just stating a truth that I have become peaceful with over the past few months. I am never going to be the type of female that a male could want to have as a companion. Hell, if it took this long to get a hetero male as a friend, you know? So I'm at peace with this now.

Sorry to hear about your depressiveness. Could it be the increasing temperatures? The stress involved in remodeling this house? A combination of both?

See Me, Repeat Me (Dee the Lurker), Wednesday, 12 April 2006 01:36 (eighteen years ago) link

Just because it has always been that way doesn't mean it will always be that way. You're pretty great, Dee.

luna (luna.c), Wednesday, 12 April 2006 03:31 (eighteen years ago) link

Also, Sam, I really like how your house is coming along. I won't be able to afford my own probably EVER, so I'm vicariously living through you.

I'm sorry to hear you're not feeling great - maybe it IS the anti-depressants?

luna (luna.c), Wednesday, 12 April 2006 03:36 (eighteen years ago) link

Somebody called me by accident this morning when I had just gotten up, and it was a happy accident!

martin m. (mushrush), Wednesday, 12 April 2006 16:47 (eighteen years ago) link

happy for you or happy for them?

Huk-L (Huk-L), Wednesday, 12 April 2006 16:48 (eighteen years ago) link

last night I completely junked all the songs in my mp3 player and uploaded a bunch of stuff I liked when I was younger but haven't listened to in a long time. A lot of heavier stuff. Though not, like heavy by anybody's standard but mine. I feel totally badass.

Huk-L (Huk-L), Wednesday, 12 April 2006 16:58 (eighteen years ago) link

Although all of the things dee mentioned could make me feel less than peachy I really do think it was the meds. surely starting to take them as prescribed again after weeks of spotiness would do something to my moods. Also caffiene which I had stopped for months and have been hitting hard these past few days. argh.

so sick of working on the house. i am a bum.

speaking of mp3 players my damn ipod's acting up. the clickwheel thing's not turning. boo. :(

oh, and my cat is afraid of our new refridgerator. the ice maker scares the shit out of him and he won't venture through the kitchen unless he is carried. pussy.

Miss Misery xox (MissMiseryTX), Wednesday, 12 April 2006 17:01 (eighteen years ago) link

Caffiene is soooo powerfully related to mood it's unbelievable. It took me a long time to come to terms with it, because I simply adore coffee, but if I'm not careful I can toss myself into semi-depression after only a day of drinking too much coffee. Part of it's that I just don't sleep well if I've had too much that day, but I'm sure there's more to it than that, because if I stay up without the aid of caffiene the result is nowhere near as damaging.

The last few days I've been feeling great mostly because I haven't been drinking any coffee after my couple cups in the morning.

It still makes me sad I can't just abuse coffee the way I used to and get away with it. I mean, y'all have seen my tattoo, right? Grrr.

martin m. (mushrush), Wednesday, 12 April 2006 17:06 (eighteen years ago) link

happy for you or happy for them?

Well, it was happy for me. I just assumed it was happy for both of us.

martin m. (mushrush), Wednesday, 12 April 2006 17:09 (eighteen years ago) link

I think if it was happy for you, it was probably happy for them, too. Unless you were happy because you were crushing someone's soul, in which case, well, too bad for them.

(This is evidence that I haven't had any caffeine at all today, and will rectify that immediately with girl coffee).

luna (luna.c), Wednesday, 12 April 2006 17:25 (eighteen years ago) link

girl coffee? is this some special feminizied brew?

Miss Misery xox (MissMiseryTX), Wednesday, 12 April 2006 17:28 (eighteen years ago) link

Um, did I crush your soul this morning when you accidentally called me, Luna? Because I'm really sorry if I did, but before coffee and before I'm even out of bed sometimes I am a little grouchy and soul-crushy. I'll admit it.

martin m. (mushrush), Wednesday, 12 April 2006 17:29 (eighteen years ago) link

No, it's just that I rarely drink coffee by itself (because I am a weenie) - it's got to be a Mocha Latte or something. My friend Joe calls drinks like that girl coffee because "real men don't need anything in coffee but black."

luna (luna.c), Wednesday, 12 April 2006 17:30 (eighteen years ago) link

Nope, soul remains intact! Now if only I could learn to read before 9 am...

luna (luna.c), Wednesday, 12 April 2006 17:31 (eighteen years ago) link

My friend Joe calls drinks like that girl coffee because "real men don't need anything in coffee but black."

Ha! I don't even drink coffee, only double espressos. Still no hair on my chest, though.

M. White (Miguelito), Wednesday, 12 April 2006 17:35 (eighteen years ago) link

isn't espresso way stronger than regular coffe?

Miss Misery xox (MissMiseryTX), Wednesday, 12 April 2006 17:37 (eighteen years ago) link

Ah, coffee. A fine thing. Hello all.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 12 April 2006 17:38 (eighteen years ago) link

Stronger in taste but so much smaller in volume than most people's caffeine delivery systems that it's not that bad.

M. White (Miguelito), Wednesday, 12 April 2006 17:40 (eighteen years ago) link

Hm, is that why there's so much hair on my chest? Maybe I should stop with the espresso.

martin m. (mushrush), Wednesday, 12 April 2006 18:32 (eighteen years ago) link

i miss vancouver (italian) coffee.

Huk-L (Huk-L), Wednesday, 12 April 2006 18:33 (eighteen years ago) link

I miss Rhode Island coffee milk.

luna (luna.c), Wednesday, 12 April 2006 18:36 (eighteen years ago) link

I am working from bed today.

In fact the only reason I got out of bed and showered just now is cause a friend called and wanted to go out and get lunch with me, but once I get back home after lunch I'm breaking out another pair of pajamas* and going back to work.

* Yes, since I work from home I do have a set of pajamas for every day of the week.

martin m. (mushrush), Wednesday, 12 April 2006 18:45 (eighteen years ago) link

I would gladly have pjs for every day of the week if I culd work from home. Now if I could only convince my bosses.

luna (luna.c), Wednesday, 12 April 2006 18:57 (eighteen years ago) link

maybe start by wearing pjs to work

Huk-L (Huk-L), Wednesday, 12 April 2006 18:58 (eighteen years ago) link

Well, see, the problem with that is that I'd still like to have a job. Unless I win the lottery or something.

luna (luna.c), Wednesday, 12 April 2006 19:15 (eighteen years ago) link

i just went out for a smoke and the cute girl was there and she talked to me, and she kept calling me by my name, she said my name like 3 or 4 times in the course of a 5 minute conversation...i don't know her name!
at least she's not going to give me a root canal!

Huk-L (Huk-L), Wednesday, 12 April 2006 19:24 (eighteen years ago) link

How can you be so sure?

M. White (Miguelito), Wednesday, 12 April 2006 20:01 (eighteen years ago) link

Huk just ask her her name! Then proceed to use it 3 or 4 times during the conversation!

martin m. (mushrush), Wednesday, 12 April 2006 20:58 (eighteen years ago) link

Then, when you feel more confident, give her a root canal!

martin m. (mushrush), Wednesday, 12 April 2006 20:58 (eighteen years ago) link

martin m = new king of euphemism

Although I promise this morning when I said Luna called me by accident, I really meant "call" as in on the "phone." "Honest."

martin m. (mushrush), Wednesday, 12 April 2006 21:00 (eighteen years ago) link

"It's true."

luna (luna.c), Wednesday, 12 April 2006 21:14 (eighteen years ago) link

i have a very insincere crush on her

Huk-L (Huk-L), Wednesday, 12 April 2006 21:15 (eighteen years ago) link

Bah. That doesn't rule out a root canal. Does it?

martin m. (mushrush), Thursday, 13 April 2006 03:02 (eighteen years ago) link

ow. flutter.

Huk-L (Huk-L), Thursday, 13 April 2006 15:45 (eighteen years ago) link

Well, the working in bed thing turned out to be a mistake yesterday. It really made for some not productive choices.

The rest of the day was a mixed bag. The low points are thoroughly confusing, but the high point was intoxicatingly rich.

I'm still going to have to give it a 9.5.

martin m. (mushrush), Thursday, 13 April 2006 15:48 (eighteen years ago) link

I refuse to believe that working from bed could ever be a bad thing. (This is probably because I don't ever get to do it, and so therefore have no real idea how productive I would or would not be, but bed, in my opinion, can't ever be a bad thing.)

I'm going to go make my emergency office girl coffee so I can open my eyes.

luna (luna.c), Thursday, 13 April 2006 15:54 (eighteen years ago) link

Bed, in general and when used as a bed, is never a bad thing, no, but yesterday I was using mine as a desk and chair, and that really just isn't the best use.

martin m. (mushrush), Thursday, 13 April 2006 15:59 (eighteen years ago) link

I used to do a lot of work from home. I didn't really like it 'cause it made me feel bad about doing personal stuff and at the same made me resent having to do work.

M. White (Miguelito), Thursday, 13 April 2006 16:09 (eighteen years ago) link

I don't seem to have that problem. I rather like that if it takes me a while to get going on real work (that isn't personal), then fine, I'll just work a little later and get it done.

martin m. (mushrush), Thursday, 13 April 2006 16:59 (eighteen years ago) link

If I could work from home and take still naps when I wanted to, it would be ideal.

luna (luna.c), Thursday, 13 April 2006 17:19 (eighteen years ago) link

uh, I do that. often.

martin m. (mushrush), Thursday, 13 April 2006 17:40 (eighteen years ago) link

It's Friday. Where the hell is everybody?

martin m. (mushrush), Friday, 14 April 2006 19:22 (eighteen years ago) link

Good Friday. Many have the day off.

M. White (Miguelito), Friday, 14 April 2006 19:23 (eighteen years ago) link

Oh shit. Ha ha ha ha. Didn't even think of that.

martin m. (mushrush), Friday, 14 April 2006 19:26 (eighteen years ago) link

I'm here. Mostly.

luna (luna.c), Friday, 14 April 2006 19:39 (eighteen years ago) link
