A buddy of mine came to the bar last night to tie one on in celebration of Booking Day. He ordered a Mug Shot of my choice, so I gave him a shot of our best tequila in a Moscow Mule mug. Anyway, on his way down into a dissolute puddle he said, "Back in WWII they said that the greatest hero of the war would be the person who killed Hitler, and that turned out to be Hitler. Today the greatest hero might be the person who kills the Republican Party, and that's going to turn out to be Trump." It was kind of funny/striking at the time but maybe a little overoptimistic?

I do not think Brian Kemp will be inclined to call a special session of the Georgia legislature to remove Fani Willis from office. He loathes Trump, and does not need the crisis that would ensue.

removing a special prosecutor from office doesn't end a criminal trial, anyway, just slows it down

It's a good question, as we somehow have plenty of undecided voters in this country who could theoretically serve as impartial jurors, but they seem to be missing the part of their brain that allows them to form an actual opinion about a man who has been one of the most public of public figures for decades upon decades so I don't know how evidence presented over the course of mere days would be enough to dissuade their fence-sitting.

This is our local county mayor (and former pro wrestler), but it's representative of the weird idolatry that mugshot is inspiring on the right.
