two months pass...
what did we think of last year's? I hated the title ("Chaos Horrific" sounds like something Yoda said after a defeat in battle), but only now getting to my real first listens as life prevented me from getting through it when I bought it last year. not remarkable in a "they haven't reinvented themselves after all these years", or in a "hey we added a new guitar player who is quite different stylistically" like the previous one, but I do feel like this bookends that album well.
how many more do they have in them? are we gonna have CC in 2053? I feel like Corpsegrinder's voice will hold out that long.

"Summoned For Sacrifice" is a really great song. Beyond that, yeah, the songs are basically as good as ever, and Rutan contributes some nice, shredtastic guitar solos. (It took me forever to become a fan of Hate Eternal. I didn't come around on them until, like, their sixth album.)
Agree that the title is terrible. Their last good album title was Torture, honestly. Red Before Black? What the fuck does that even mean? You'd think they were some kind of Eastern European ESL death metal band.
