“Americans can expect that immediately upon President Trump’s return to the Oval Office, he will restore all of his prior policies, implement brand new crackdowns that will send shock waves to all the world’s criminal smugglers, and marshal every federal and state power necessary to institute the largest deportation operation in American history,” said Trump campaign spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt…she seems nicehttps://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2024/02/20/trump-mass-deportations-immigration/

Yes, Newsweek is now a right-wing trash fire squatting on a once-worthwhile domain, but this is still pretty funny:
Donald Trump Wants to Negotiate with Judge Engoron
Donald Trump's attorney requested to propose a new judgment on Wednesday in the former president's civil fraud trial ruling, in which Judge Arthur Engoron ruled that Trump will be fined roughly $355 million.Context:In a lawsuit filed in September 2022, New York Attorney General Letitia James accused Trump, his two adult sons Donald Jr. and Eric, The Trump Organization and two firm executives, Allen Weisselberg and Jeff McConney, of fraudulently overvaluing assets to secure more favorable bank loans and taxation deals. On Friday, Engoron ruled that Trump will be fined roughly $355 million and barred from doing business in New York for three years after a monthslong civil trial from late last year into early January. The trial was to decide the damages Trump would face after Engoron found that he committed fraud by inflating the value of his assets. The other defendants in the case have also faced financial penalties and been barred from doing business in New York for periods of time.Trump, the current GOP frontrunner in the 2024 presidential election, has maintained his innocence in the case and claimed it was politically motivated. On Wednesday, Clifford Robert filed a letter in the New York City civil court addressed to Engoron which argues Trump was "deprived" of the chance to speak out against the ruling before it was filed.According to court records, Roberts requested the chance to propose a "counter-judgment" to Engoron's ruling, adding that it would be "contrary to fundamental fairness" if not allowed to submit a counter-judgment."Defendants therefore request that the Court set a return date for the Proposed Judgment that affords Defendants sufficient time to submit a proposed counter-judgment. To deprive Defendants of the opportunity to submit a proposed counter-judgment would be contrary to fundamental fairness and due process."

Authorities in Argentina this week raided a cultural center named after Kyle Rittenhouse—the American teen known for shooting three people, two fatally, during a Black Lives Matter protest.
Police confiscated an 83-millimeter mortar shell from the center’s building in La Plata, about an hour outside of Buenos Aires, La Nacion reported, adding that the police planned to destroy the shell. It’s unclear if Rittenhouse is aware of the cultural center or has any ties to it. Attempts to reach him through social media and his former attorney were unsuccessful.

I love that the guy that won this challenge is a two-time Trump voter:
A federal judge has told MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell to hand over $5 million to a man who took up his challenge to debunk his election interference claim — and succeeded.
In the Wednesday ruling, U.S. District Judge John Tunheim ordered Lindell to pay Robert Zeidman, a computer forensics expert, the $5 million award he had promised (plus interest) within 30 days.
The yearslong saga first began at a three-day symposium in 2021 that Lindell organized to promote lies about voter fraud in the 2020 presidential election. Lindell claimed he had data that showed the Chinese government had interfered in the election and offered a prize of $5 million to anyone who could prove his data wrong. He called it the "Prove Mike Wrong" challenge.

MADISON, Wis. — Bipartisan ethics regulators in Wisconsin have recommended felony charges against one of Donald Trump’s fundraising arms and other Republicans in a scheme that they say was meant to circumvent campaign finance laws to take out a powerful GOP lawmaker who has turned against Trump.

Meantime, Engoron has officially filed the fraud judgment so Trump has 30 days from now to either put up the cash or a bond for it or else the NYAG office can start merrily collecting, regardless of when Trump files his appeal. 31 days from now is when Trump's criminal trial begins. Timing!
