A stellar financial mind:
Don Hankey, the billionaire businessman whose company Knight Specialty Insurance provided the $175 million bond that Donald Trump posted in his New York civil fraud case, told Reuters that the fee his firm charged the former U.S. President was low. Hankey, who backed Trump as a presidential candidate in 2016 and has said he supports his re-election, has maintained that providing the bond was a business decision. He declined to disclose the fee, but said it was low because Knight did not think there was much risk involved...."We thought it would be an easy procedure that wouldn't involve other legal problems and it's not turning out that way. We probably didn't charge enough," Hankey said in an interview....Hankey, who runs a group of businesses including a provider of subprime automotive loans that has been reprimanded by regulators for predatory behaviour involving customers, said Trump offered collateral for the $175 million in cash. He said the cash is held at a brokerage firm and pledged to Knight, and that Knight can access it if needed. "I don't know if it came from Donald Trump or from Donald Trump and supporters," Hankey said of the cash Trump provided for collateral.

“Ultimately, he put up all cash,” Hankey said, adding that he does not know where the $175 million in cash that Trump posted came from.
Hankey says the collateral was the full bond amount in cash... so why does Trump even need the middleman?

I know! we'll SUE THE JUDGE, what can go wrong?
Donald Trump will sue the judge overseeing his hush money trial, which is over allegations that Trump forged financial records in an attempt to cover up a sex scandal, the New York Times first reported.
The latest lawsuit from Trump is a last-minute attempt to delay the trial, which is set to begin 15 April in New York City.
According to the Times, Trump’s legal team has now filed an action against Judge Juan Merchan, though the lawsuit itself is not public.

He's still got the touch
...at the Saturday event in Palm Beach, Trump told his audience: “These are people coming in from prisons and jails. They’re coming in from just unbelievable places and countries, countries that are a disaster.
“And when I said, you know, ‘Why can’t we allow people to come in from nice countries,’ I’m trying to be nice. Nice countries, you know like Denmark, Switzerland? Do we have any people coming in from Denmark? How about Switzerland? How about Norway?”
The millionaires in the crowd “chuckled”, the Times said.

The media will definitely be a “Trump is a moderate on abortion” never mind the fact there is a whole gaggle of people behind him who will try to ban it first thing. It doesn’t matter what Trump “personally” “thinks” the maniacs behind him will ensure he does what they want.

abortion is a huge election winner for dems right now, not hard to see how it could hand trump a loss, which is nice for national dems who did nothing to protect it talked about safe legal and rare and in fact wouldnt even say the word, sometimes its good to be the lesser of two evils

An Emerson College poll of 1,438 registered voters, conducted from April 2 to 3, put Trump at 43 percent against 42 percent for Biden and 8 percent for independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. In a straight head-to-head with all other candidates and undecided voters removed, the Republican challenger had 51 percent of the vote against 49 percent for the Democratic incumbent. However, among very likely voters, Biden is ahead 51 to 49, said Spencer Kimball, executive director of Emerson College Polling.
A YouGov survey, conducted for The Economist, had Trump and Biden tied at 43 percent each with Kennedy Jr. third at 2 percent. This survey of 1,601 registered voters took place between March 30 and April 2.
