honestly ... I'm just bemused by the fact there are so many threads about the band, that seem to be the same thing over and over again ... no offense meant.

what happened? i am confused. (sarahel), Thursday, 27 August 2009 02:51 (fourteen years ago) link

i almost feel like i never want to see those album titles again and i hope when the decade ends people stop chin-stroking and theorizing and disassembling and reassembling this same group in new and exciting orders.

omar little, Tuesday, 29 September 2009 15:20 (fourteen years ago) link

ready for a new decade huh

trying to compile the pitchfork top 25 yourself because you can't wait for Friday is more depressing than that show about hoarders

maybe in the '10s but I doubt it maybe in the '10s but I doubt it maybe in the '10s but I doubt it

sleighdog mcdonald (unregistered), Tuesday, 29 September 2009 15:27 (fourteen years ago) link

that list does make it look like this decade sucked

steamed hams (harbl), Tuesday, 29 September 2009 15:29 (fourteen years ago) link

i mean sure there was good music, every decade's got good music and there's probably more of it around these days but i get tired of people who get paid to write about music for a living seemingly being completely oblivious or uncaring about stuff that doesn't land on their desk.

the '00s sucked mostly for non-music reasons actually...

omar little, Tuesday, 29 September 2009 15:30 (fourteen years ago) link

I'd wager 20% of people who write for pithfork "write about music for a living" but please continue to be a crank about a list you haven;t seen yet

ott or pop (Whiney G. Weingarten), Tuesday, 29 September 2009 15:35 (fourteen years ago) link

i get tired of people who get paid to write about music for a living too

OTM

Mr. Que, Tuesday, 29 September 2009 15:35 (fourteen years ago) link

tbf arguing that a whole decade sucked for music is pretty chin-stroking music critic thing to do

congratulations (n/a), Tuesday, 29 September 2009 15:36 (fourteen years ago) link

nah, i thought it sucked without paying it too much attention.

history mayne, Tuesday, 29 September 2009 15:37 (fourteen years ago) link

but i get tired of people who get paid to write about music for a living seemingly being completely oblivious or uncaring about stuff that doesn't land on their desk.

This is pretty much the way its been since rock writing began. If anything, you should be GLAD places like pfork exist because now that it's easier to hear unique and different music than ever, dudes like William Basinski or whatever are getting props they would have never gotten in Rolling Stone or Spin or even Pfork ca. 2000
