is *that* what the lyrics are? They're even more unintelligble/weird/cosmic than I ever misheard.

as noted, this is one of the greatest experiences that recorded music can offer.

More or less inspired by hilarious interview with Renate in BBC Krautrock doc where she talks about trying to rid their crash pad of Baader Meinhof fanatics

I have it here on minidisc.

That's not terribly useful, I know...

I can probably find it on YouTube if I need to.

There is (or was) an ace live video of "Eye Shaking King" on youtube where the intro totally sounded like Polvo (to me)

I like the heavy stuff too, but have lately been really bowled over by Green Bubble Raincoated Man, which reminds me a whole, whole lot of 1st album Slapp Happy...guess the influence runs the other way, but surprised that I haven't run into the SH comparison so much previously. Probably would have gotten me interested in ADii earlier.

Who is

the emperor of the sky?

Trip Maker, Thursday, 16 October 2014 15:07 (nine years ago) link

six years pass...

When the everywhere-eye
Asks you
Who is the emperor
Of the sky
Take the Archangel's Thunderbird

Go to Edgar Allen
In the tower of sleep
He'll tell you a story
Which makes you to creep
The echo of your cries
Is falling so deep

Rent a destroyer
And sail to Cape Cod

****ALL TIME BEST-LYRIC****
There lives a lion
They call him God
***************************

There is no elevator to Eden
But a hole in the sky

In shock-corridors
People are standing
With their eyes in their hands
But they don't understand
Why their confessional folding-chairs
Go into the narcotic flight of stairs

Baiting soldiers are sleeping
In the melting House of Wax
Why is the audience not taking
The insurrection-axe
Thousands of windows burst open
And the alarm bells are broken

One of the greatest set of psychedelic lyrics for sure. I love that the Breeders covered this

Sometimes I fantasize that Amon Duul II titles became part of the lingua franca of the hippie set:

"What's with that chick? Is she just a Restless Skylight-Transistor-Child?"

"Hey, man, you're Stumbling Over Melted Moonlight tonight!"

Halfway there but for you, Wednesday, 3 February 2021 00:45 (three years ago) link

For someone who wasn't a native English speaker, Falk-U Rogner wrote some great psychedelic gobbledygook lyrics - and came up with great song titles.

The riff on this song is better than anything Zeppelin wrote

This 10 minute pilot (?) from 1998 for a show called "Archangel Thunderbird" popped up on YouTube. It's kind of rubbish and not old enough to be hauntological but a bit of a curio. Would be hugely improved if it had used the song as a soundtrack.
