First Dude (The Reverend), Monday, 13 October 2008 04:27 (fifteen years ago) link

"Swerve & Lean" and "Pole Position" are dope and all... But you are nuts! I mean, no denying that the lyrics are a little dumb, but I could listen to that beat all day long.

jigglepanda.gif (Whiney G. Weingarten), Monday, 13 October 2008 04:35 (fifteen years ago) link

I don't like the beat either tho

First Dude (The Reverend), Monday, 13 October 2008 04:37 (fifteen years ago) link

"so I was doing a radio interview in Toronto, right, and somebody said 'hey, the Kids In The Hall are here, and they want to meet you,' and I got all excited because I'm a huge fan, but then it was actually these rappers from Chicago and I was like 'what the fuck? i was all ready to get Mark McKinney's autograph, you're not the chicken lady!'"

some dude, Monday, 13 October 2008 20:29 (fifteen years ago) link

I love buck and am looking forward to listening to this, but seriously King of the Trap??? that's like the least original mixtape title anyone could possibly come up with at this point. also blvd st is killing it

surfboard dudes get wiped out, totally, Tuesday, 14 October 2008 14:38 (fifteen years ago) link

i think Buck actually sweeped the "least original" category at the Ozone Awards the last couple years.

New Roots Manuva record getting lots of repeat play over here. Glad he found something cool and unique and fun to do esp. since grime, dubstep and Mike Skinner aren't doing so hot in the states. This record deserves more shine.

some dude, Thursday, 16 October 2008 22:16 (fifteen years ago) link

Teddy Riley (The Reverend), Friday, 17 October 2008 09:26 (fifteen years ago) link

No-nonsense corner: new Termanology, new Elzhi, new Heltah Skeltah.... All pretty good.

jigglepanda.gif (Whiney G. Weingarten), Monday, 20 October 2008 17:23 (fifteen years ago) link

term record is too short and its blatant I AM NEW ILLMATIC pandering is obnoxious

the lo-fi MF Doomy one where Bun B wrecks him is my fave.

jigglepanda.gif (Whiney G. Weingarten), Monday, 20 October 2008 18:39 (fifteen years ago) link

saying that a premo beat is "lo-fi MF Doomy" http://www.soulstrut.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/nagl2.gif

and what, Monday, 20 October 2008 18:41 (fifteen years ago) link

haha. i actually had that thought, but went with it anyway.

jigglepanda.gif (Whiney G. Weingarten), Monday, 20 October 2008 18:43 (fifteen years ago) link

need PREMO + BUN B poll

and what, Monday, 20 October 2008 18:44 (fifteen years ago) link

i think preem has had the best batting average of any producer in existence, and that even goes for dudes like Phil Spector.

jigglepanda.gif (Whiney G. Weingarten), Monday, 20 October 2008 18:46 (fifteen years ago) link

the nottz track is my favorite, i just wish hed done more stuff, esp since 'watch how it goes down' is so old

lol wiengarten posts v much in character

joe 40oz (deej), Monday, 20 October 2008 18:47 (fifteen years ago) link

yeah look there was no way the album was gonna be 12 tracks of "watch how it go down" but theres still some dope dope dope cuts - the hi-tek/lil fame joint is underrated too

and what, Monday, 20 October 2008 19:14 (fifteen years ago) link

"New Roots Manuva record getting lots of repeat play over here. Glad he found something cool and unique and fun to do esp. since grime, dubstep and Mike Skinner aren't doing so hot in the states."

titchyschneiderMk2, Monday, 20 October 2008 19:25 (fifteen years ago) link

anyone heard the new Prodigy album apparently dropping tomorrow, Product Of The 80s? part of me realizes I probably don't need 3 albums from him in the space of 2 years, but if it's as good as the others I'll like it anyway.

some dude, Monday, 20 October 2008 20:01 (fifteen years ago) link

soulstrut dudes were saying its better than hnic2

joe 40oz (deej), Monday, 20 October 2008 20:03 (fifteen years ago) link

Return Of The Mac was better than hnic2

It's starting to look like last year, when all the decent hip-hop records start pouring out all at once in the last three months.

jigglepanda.gif (Whiney G. Weingarten), Monday, 20 October 2008 20:19 (fifteen years ago) link

It's starting to look like last every year, when all the decent high profile hip-hop records start pouring out all at once in the last three months Christmas retail rush.

some dude, Monday, 20 October 2008 20:28 (fifteen years ago) link
