Ally C (Ally C), Thursday, 13 May 2004 19:19 (nineteen years ago) link

Cozen: but of course.

Madchen (Madchen), Thursday, 13 May 2004 21:19 (nineteen years ago) link

I bumped into cathy and RJG on the street (love yr visor!!!) and cathy said she would forward your details, madchen. so. see you on saturday. is it OK if I bring a girlfriend?

cozen (Cozen), Friday, 14 May 2004 00:41 (nineteen years ago) link

cathy has forwarded your details and all I can say, among other things, is: fucking hell, the buses?

love, david.

cozen (Cozen), Friday, 14 May 2004 00:46 (nineteen years ago) link

I 'ate you, 'owie.

RJG (RJG), Friday, 14 May 2004 01:30 (nineteen years ago) link

whose girlfriend, btw?

RJG (RJG), Friday, 14 May 2004 01:30 (nineteen years ago) link

Lots and lots of lovely buses. That is why everyone wants to live in Dennistoun. You could walk it - it's 25 minutes from George Square or probably 20 minutes for a bloke with a long stride.

Girlfried, eh? OK, as long as she doesn't puke on my flowerbeds.

Madchen (Madchen), Friday, 14 May 2004 07:07 (nineteen years ago) link

Do you think people will see my invite on friendster or should I send an email just in case?

Madchen (Madchen), Friday, 14 May 2004 07:07 (nineteen years ago) link

sp.

cozen (Cozen), Friday, 14 May 2004 07:10 (nineteen years ago) link

Sorry.

Madchen (Madchen), Friday, 14 May 2004 07:12 (nineteen years ago) link

she won't mind.

cozen (Cozen), Friday, 14 May 2004 07:14 (nineteen years ago) link

1000

RJG (RJG), Friday, 14 May 2004 10:55 (nineteen years ago) link

I wish!

Madchen (Madchen), Friday, 14 May 2004 14:21 (nineteen years ago) link

I met dastoor on the street and he said something about the puking in the flowerbeds comment above and so I can only guess he's refraining from posting for some reason (over-pallyness? who knows) or other reasons.

cozen (Cozen), Friday, 14 May 2004 16:03 (nineteen years ago) link

Just to remind anyone that steve and I shall be runnin' tings down at the Double-T pub Quiz tomorrow....

Robbie Lumsden (Wallace Stevens HQ), Monday, 17 May 2004 14:55 (nineteen years ago) link

"james joyce round"?!

cozen (Cozen), Monday, 17 May 2004 17:12 (nineteen years ago) link

.....there is a question on James Joyce. perhaps....

Robbie Lumsden (Wallace Stevens HQ), Monday, 17 May 2004 19:12 (nineteen years ago) link

How far is it from Manchester to Glasgow? Would the unsuspecting visitor benefit more from a sojourn to Edinburgh or to Glasgow, or indeed to Dundee?

Mary (Mary), Monday, 17 May 2004 19:15 (nineteen years ago) link

Ooh, pub quiz! Where?

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 17 May 2004 20:35 (nineteen years ago) link

the doublet, on park rd. off gt. western road, behind the hogs head...

best bar in glasgow!

Robbie Lumsden (Wallace Stevens HQ), Monday, 17 May 2004 20:36 (nineteen years ago) link

No it isn't (I used to live about a hundred yards from it, and it's full of scary people). I think we should try this, but I bet none of the others want to...

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 17 May 2004 20:39 (nineteen years ago) link

the doublet's not scary at all! i thought it was scary at first, but once you're in their always unfailingly pleasant to everyone. (except overly noisey young people. and quite rightly).

and the bar staff call me lovely there. like, as my name.

Robbie Lumsden (Wallace Stevens HQ), Monday, 17 May 2004 20:41 (nineteen years ago) link

I may have been an overly noisy young person though...

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 17 May 2004 20:46 (nineteen years ago) link

..their always unfailingly pleasant to everyone what?

I will be on holiday again. Sorry.

Ally C (Ally C), Monday, 17 May 2004 20:48 (nineteen years ago) link

ailsa, I'll be there.

mary: glasgow!

cozen (Cozen), Monday, 17 May 2004 20:49 (nineteen years ago) link

well, it was only really one group of noisey young freshers who came in, and were asked to keep it down, and left uppily.

i was drinking in the afternoon once with a few friends, and the bar man came close to telling us off for neglecting our studies. ach it's brilliant and (until tomorrow, i dare say) the best pub quiz...

xpost

they're alway unfailingly pleasant...

my apologies...

Robbie Lumsden (Wallace Stevens HQ), Monday, 17 May 2004 20:50 (nineteen years ago) link

fuck's sake, cook, you're only just back off your holidays...

(is there, like, prizes, btw?)

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 17 May 2004 20:50 (nineteen years ago) link

I heard your quiz is 'pretentious'.

cozen (Cozen), Monday, 17 May 2004 20:51 (nineteen years ago) link

£25 in drink vouchers for the winner, £15 for second....

xpost

who told you my quiz was pretentious? nobody's seen it but me and the Steve "The Vancouver Hoover" Cole...

Robbie Lumsden (Wallace Stevens HQ), Monday, 17 May 2004 20:52 (nineteen years ago) link

I've been playing football.

I hurt myself. would you like to see my bum?

cozen (Cozen), Monday, 17 May 2004 20:53 (nineteen years ago) link

ahhhh, so that's who told you...

i don't think its particularly pretentious. his questions more than mine.

in fact, one of the questions is to accurately represent the decline of the working classes through mime and/or dance.

Robbie Lumsden (Wallace Stevens HQ), Monday, 17 May 2004 20:55 (nineteen years ago) link

I agree with cozen.

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Monday, 17 May 2004 21:06 (nineteen years ago) link

How is Dundee?

Mary (Mary), Monday, 17 May 2004 21:17 (nineteen years ago) link

Does anyone want to see Dani Siciliano at Cottiers on Saturday?

N. (nickdastoor), Monday, 17 May 2004 21:48 (nineteen years ago) link

oooooooh. I'm in! I won't go.

cozen (Cozen), Tuesday, 18 May 2004 10:08 (nineteen years ago) link

Sorry - Sunday, not Saturday.

Quite a weekend of Glasgow live music, potentially

Friday - Sons & Daughters (OK, again)
Saturday - Multiplies or Wu-Tang Clan
Sunday - Dani Siciliano

Don't be a wuss, cozen.

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 18 May 2004 10:20 (nineteen years ago) link

s&d - never seen. are they OK?
multiplies - mebbe.
siciliano - I'm down.

are you pub quizzing tonight, N.?

cozen (Cozen), Tuesday, 18 May 2004 10:22 (nineteen years ago) link

No, I am preparing my wu moves.

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 18 May 2004 10:23 (nineteen years ago) link

(ie. yes, OK)

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 18 May 2004 10:23 (nineteen years ago) link

don't be a wu, N..

cozen (Cozen), Tuesday, 18 May 2004 10:24 (nineteen years ago) link

Siciliano is £12 but yeah, I think I'm down.

Sons & Daughters are great if you don't hate guitar bands entirely. I noticed on your musicmobs page that THE STROKES are by far you're top-played artist, so I guess you don't. It's at Sleazy's and only two quid, so why don't give a whirl?

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 18 May 2004 10:40 (nineteen years ago) link

I hate doing that and I hate that I hate doing it even more.

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 18 May 2004 10:42 (nineteen years ago) link

you and your crazy capitals. I feel misrepresented by my musicmobs page, bah -. (that strokes 'phase' ws post-break-up hysteria, see.) £12 is a bit steep, hm. I think I'm down though. I need to find a career first. multiplies played the other night too; I'm a bit wary. they sound like devo?

cozen (Cozen), Tuesday, 18 May 2004 10:42 (nineteen years ago) link

x-post, ach shut up.

cozen (Cozen), Tuesday, 18 May 2004 10:43 (nineteen years ago) link

Yeah.

They were pretty amazing at Bunker the other night. Maybe Devo is the comparison I was looking for. I mean, I don't really know Devo, but I thought they must sound like something.

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 18 May 2004 10:48 (nineteen years ago) link

Oops - have got my days in a twist. Friday is Multiplies and Saturday is Sons & Daughters. I think I was thinking of Friday's child being loving and giving.
