that list does make it look like this decade sucked

i mean sure there was good music, every decade's got good music and there's probably more of it around these days but i get tired of people who get paid to write about music for a living seemingly being completely oblivious or uncaring about stuff that doesn't land on their desk.

the '00s sucked mostly for non-music reasons actually...

I'd wager 20% of people who write for pithfork "write about music for a living" but please continue to be a crank about a list you haven;t seen yet

This is pretty much the way its been since rock writing began. If anything, you should be GLAD places like pfork exist because now that it's easier to hear unique and different music than ever, dudes like William Basinski or whatever are getting props they would have never gotten in Rolling Stone or Spin or even Pfork ca. 2000

sometimes when i read one of the sub-board music threads it's like i'm in a university basement with a bunch of genius scientists working on time travel and cloning while upstairs the tenured faculty is still discussing how magnificent electricity is.
