The American Dream

In 1949 Willy Loman dreamed of a little place out in the country, where he could raise some vegetables and a couple of chickens.

What do American's dream of these days?

This thread isn't about retired wrestler Dusty Rhodes then? Shame.

Make it so!

I thought you'd get annoyed if I started reminiscing about great matches with Ric Flair or Tully Blanchard (not that we got to see many over here), or dismissing his rather third rate son Dustin.

I remember a very good talking but when he came on with a black wrestler pal, probably Butch Reed though I don't remember for sure, and described him as the "world's best black wrestler" and Butch (or whoever) got mad and attacked him.

I'm enthralled. Tell me more!

A commune. Not a communist one though. One like Galt's Gulch but less ridiculous and probably much dirtier.

Apparently THIS -

WHAT'S THE DEFINITION OF THE AMERICAN DREAM?...

Martin, what about the Junkyard Dog?

Based on a lot of the emails I receive, I imagine they're dreaming of lesbian schoolgirls, gigantic penises, and investment advice.

What about JYD? When I was watching your wrestling, he was in the WWF and Dusty was in the NWA, so I never saw them fight. Long gap, then when I started watching again, both had retired.

And now he is dead.

For me, it's a little cabin in the mountains, far from the noise of the city and the "civilized world", where I can basically live off the land and not have to interact with people. Sheesh, I sound like Ted Kazinski (spelling). Maybe I need to re-think this dream. Okay - make that a medium or large cabin - and not sending anything via the U.S. Postal Service.

Currently I'm dreaming (as an American I speak for all of us, right?) of this new kitten that I will convince my mom to get since her kitty went to the happy hunting grounds this morning (at least that's what my parents called it when I was growing up). I suppose I haven't allowed much mourning time yet. But I tend to think about kittens alot anyway. Already have 2 cats in my house. When I'm really old and all alone I'll live in a big victorian house with as many cats as I can handle.
