explain the sexual appeal of female twins to me

Ever see one of those bad sitcoms where a character has a date with twins, or Ed O'Neill/Ted McGinley grovels over twins, or those commercials where there are hot twins enticing you to drink beer?

I understand the appeal of two females, but twins....meh. Am I the only one who finds it a little creepy? I'd be interested to hear from those who feel the opposite.

Gear! (Gear!), Tuesday, 23 December 2003 06:11 (twenty-two years ago)

A scene from Dead Ringers comes to mind.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 23 December 2003 06:14 (twenty-two years ago)

My (male) best friend has just answered it this way:

Most guys want two women,
Most guys also wouldn't mind fucking the hot sister

In this case, you get both, no one gets mad, and you are henceforth the envy of everyone but the guy who banged the triplets.

luna (luna.c), Tuesday, 23 December 2003 06:16 (twenty-two years ago)

Those beer twins are incredibly unattractive on top of incest yuckiness.

miloauckerman (miloauckerman), Tuesday, 23 December 2003 06:17 (twenty-two years ago)

I mean yeah, the primary appeal of two women is the idea of watching them get it on. With twins, eek. yuckiness is right.

Gear! (Gear!), Tuesday, 23 December 2003 06:18 (twenty-two years ago)

no one gets mad? what the two sisters don't mind getting it on with the same person? yuckiness indeed.

Viva La Sam (thatgirl), Tuesday, 23 December 2003 06:24 (twenty-two years ago)

Those goddam Coors Light twins. I'd actually probably not mind them as much if a) they weren't accompanied by the world's worst music and b) they weren't shilling for piss in a bottle.

Gear! (Gear!), Tuesday, 23 December 2003 06:27 (twenty-two years ago)

well it wasn't MY idea.

luna (luna.c), Tuesday, 23 December 2003 07:08 (twenty-two years ago)

not this time, at least...

El Santo Claus (Kingfish), Tuesday, 23 December 2003 07:32 (twenty-two years ago)

i think there's this weird thing where coz they're twins a threesome seems more likely like there's this "we do everything together... everything, tee-hee" scenario imagined.

Sterling Clover (s_clover), Tuesday, 23 December 2003 08:31 (twenty-two years ago)

I too have always thought it was a bit odd. True, most guys wouldn't mind fucking the hot sister, but I don't really wanna be involved with someone who's incestuous.

oops (Oops), Tuesday, 23 December 2003 08:35 (twenty-two years ago)

okay also isn't it possible to get with two females who *don't* get with one another?

i mean, who sez incest hasta come into it anyway?

maybe they tag team.

Sterling Clover (s_clover), Tuesday, 23 December 2003 08:38 (twenty-two years ago)

Sorry, if you're both naked and you're both in front of me, you are having sex with each other. Dem's the rules.

oops (Oops), Tuesday, 23 December 2003 08:39 (twenty-two years ago)

I think the question originally asked is why are twins any better than two girls who aren't twins? That's how it is made to seem in these shows/beer ads. Like 'wow isn't she hot...OMG they're she is again! I just can't take it!!!'
If I'm gonna be having sex with 2 women I'd want them to look different so I'd know they were in fact 2 women, and I wasn't the victim of a holographic hoax of some sort.

oops (Oops), Tuesday, 23 December 2003 08:47 (twenty-two years ago)

Changing the slant a little..

I know of at least one couple where the wife has an identical twin. The husband is not so keen on the other one. Maybe that's just as well, yeah?

mark grout (mark grout), Tuesday, 23 December 2003 09:45 (twenty-two years ago)

It goes back to breastfeeding while watching Doublemint ads. For me, anyway.

andy, Tuesday, 23 December 2003 22:20 (twenty-two years ago)

I'd like to hear what brother-in-laws married to identical twins have to say about this. Do they ever look at each other, and think hmmm? And what if they're identical twins themselves? Twin brothers who are brother-in-laws with each other?

What if one of them only has one arm?

Pleasant Plains (Pleasant Plains), Wednesday, 24 December 2003 00:14 (twenty-two years ago)

It all comes down to the incident detailed by myself on this thread.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 24 December 2003 00:20 (twenty-two years ago)

scene from Dead Ringers comes to mind.

Best movie ever.

TEH ONE AN ONLEY DEANN GULBAREY (deangulberry), Wednesday, 24 December 2003 00:21 (twenty-two years ago)

i have been going out with a twin for over two years. i find the thought of being with both of them vaguely horrifying. i know they once snogged a chap called andrew one after the other (before i knew them).

weasel diesel (K1l14n), Wednesday, 24 December 2003 00:22 (twenty-two years ago)

this reminds me of the first thread i set up on ILE. of course, one of those twins didn't actually exist :-) (see below)

Most ridiculous, obviously made-up story you've been told?

weasel diesel (K1l14n), Wednesday, 24 December 2003 00:24 (twenty-two years ago)

and they were male, not female.

weasel diesel (K1l14n), Wednesday, 24 December 2003 00:26 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm interested in the etiquette of actually being in a relationship with one half of a pair of identical twins... I mean, surely it must be in the back of the twin in question's mind that you find their brother or sister sexually attractive as well?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 24 December 2003 00:26 (twenty-two years ago)

aye. but when you're in a relationship with someone, you know they are going to find all sorts of people attractive - regardless of whether they look like you or not. my girlfriend finds plenty of my friends attractive, and has happily admitted it, so i don't think it matters too much. no-one can be attracted to one person and one person only.

weasel diesel (K1l14n), Wednesday, 24 December 2003 00:34 (twenty-two years ago)

The 'Incest Laws': What's The Point?

Andrew (enneff), Wednesday, 24 December 2003 00:43 (twenty-two years ago)

I was in a relationship with an identical twin and this thread is SO DUMB because as anyone knows, when REAL LIFE STRIKES and you're actually in the presence of two seperate people who happen to be identical twins they come to seem very different to you after the first maybe three days or something. Like in my case, I think of them as looking completely different just because I see the kind of snarl on the face of the one I wasn't with who was sort of grumpy, and the smile on the face of my pleasant, silly boyfriend.

Amity (Amity), Wednesday, 24 December 2003 00:53 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh sorry, I mean, it's not that asking the question was dumb, I guess I mean the myth that inspired asking the question is dumb

Amity (Amity), Wednesday, 24 December 2003 00:54 (twenty-two years ago)

Sexual appeal =! real life relationship.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 24 December 2003 01:05 (twenty-two years ago)

amity otm re: going out with a twin, i think. ie there are hundreds of women i'd find attractive enough to go out with: my g/f, her twin, naomi watts and countless others - but it's the individual facial expressions / sense of humour / temperament / figures of speech that you become fond of. saying "don't you find her twin sister attractive too?" seems a bit like saying "your mother is a fine looking woman, would you go out with her?" to me.

weasel diesel (K1l14n), Wednesday, 24 December 2003 01:15 (twenty-two years ago)

Naked female twins are cool. Clothed female twins are less so.

C-Man (C-Man), Wednesday, 24 December 2003 01:20 (twenty-two years ago)

Matt - I suppose that's true but it's strange to think that there's this whole desiring phenomenon that's completely seperate to anything you'd ever do in real life

Amity (Amity), Wednesday, 24 December 2003 01:20 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't mean 'you' as in Matt I mean 'you' as in me as well and people in general

Amity (Amity), Wednesday, 24 December 2003 01:21 (twenty-two years ago)

Amity, you've never fantasized about something (sexual) that you wouldn't really do?

oops (Oops), Wednesday, 24 December 2003 01:24 (twenty-two years ago)

c-man - but would you feel comfortable being with them both at the same time? clothed or otherwise :-)

weasel diesel (K1l14n), Wednesday, 24 December 2003 01:25 (twenty-two years ago)

obv twins don't mind sharing. Their looks, their wardrobes, the odd cock...also, the target market for beer ads is Stupid Desperate Guys.

petra jane (petra jane), Wednesday, 24 December 2003 01:39 (twenty-two years ago)

I say bring 'em on - totally comfortable!

C-Man (C-Man), Wednesday, 24 December 2003 02:02 (twenty-two years ago)

What, stupid desperate guys?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 24 December 2003 02:09 (twenty-two years ago)

Best X-Post Evah!

petra jane (petra jane), Wednesday, 24 December 2003 03:08 (twenty-two years ago)

I never really seen the appeal, other than the surreal quality I would imagine it to have.

Jordan (Jordan), Wednesday, 24 December 2003 03:11 (twenty-two years ago)

Oops - yes, I was thinking about that at length. In my case it goes so far that at one point, I could only fantasise about my boyfriend with the girl he'd been unfaithful to me with for a few months. I was broken hearted for a long time after I found about it, but still, that was the only thing I wanted to think about at a 'certain moment'. And yet, I would have done anything to prevent it happening in real life. That's how divergent the two things can be.

Amity (Amity), Wednesday, 24 December 2003 03:34 (twenty-two years ago)

My sisters are twins. I hate you people.

Allyzay, Wednesday, 24 December 2003 05:10 (twenty-two years ago)

So you're selling them because you love them?

West Coast ModJ, Wednesday, 24 December 2003 05:16 (twenty-two years ago)

Jimmy I cannot IM you, it won't let me return your IM, wtf is that about?

Allyzay, Wednesday, 24 December 2003 05:20 (twenty-two years ago)

Sorry, if you're both naked and you're both in front of me, you are having sex with each other. Dem's the rules.

I agree in principle, but it'd be kinda difficult to convince them of that if it was two guys in front of me.

Christine 'Green Leafy Dragon' Indigo (cindigo), Friday, 26 December 2003 00:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Depends who it is, Christine! You'll be unsurprised that I've done this!

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Friday, 26 December 2003 01:51 (twenty-two years ago)

wot, made out with your hott female identical twin?

petra jane (petra jane), Friday, 26 December 2003 02:11 (twenty-two years ago)

Depends who it is, Christine! You'll be unsurprised that I've done this!

Yeah, but most men aren't as wonderful as you, Martin.

Christine 'Green Leafy Dragon' Indigo (cindigo), Friday, 26 December 2003 04:30 (twenty-two years ago)

Or more to the point, aren't as bi. No, I've never made out with twins, or even sisters.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Friday, 26 December 2003 10:11 (twenty-two years ago)

In my wild youth I had a very drunken one-night stand with an identical twin. I met her at a party a few weeks later and we were headed for a repeat until something made us realise that (you've guessed it) I was actually with the "wrong" twin. She took very well, in fact thought it was very funny, but not surprisingly decided she didn't want to have sex with a guy who believed he'd been propositioning her sister.

None of this had anything to do with the sexual appeal of female twins. I'd have been more disappointed at having blown my chance with the second sister if she'd been as attractive as her sister but not an identical twin.
